With any luck, they'll be able to rescue some from a Georgia mountain cult.

Interesting, Bull Mountain is about 2 hrs south.

I am amazed that the Rainbows still exist. I first heard about them around 1978 when I was in Taos NM. At that time they were camped in the Carson National Forest. Their goal at that time was to submit a proposal that NM secede from the Union.

AFAIK, they are a loose band of vagrants that assemble once per year at some location. Their communication is 1:1. Somehow they organize and come together from all across the country.

I think they determine the following year's location and then when they break camp they spend the rest of the year traveling to the new assembly point.

They are what is left of the true '60s Hippie. Our version of the Gypsies that populate England and Europe.

I suspect they will provide a boost in the gross income of the Methonite Community.

I don't recall ever hearing of them before, but they apparently had their first official annual gathering in 1972 here in CO just South of Lake Granby. And they have returned to CO in 1992 and 2006. Here is an interesting article from 2006:

You've never heard of the Rainbow Gathering? I'm somewhat surprised.
