Then we will have SHTF.I am a progressive liberal by your standards. I even live in a rural farming area of progressive liberal New England. I, and most people I know, would never vote for someone who we thought would take actions to get back at groups, if nothing else because basing your decisions on others gives them the power. I would prefer to vote for someone who articulated goals I agree with for the country (not necessarily personal goals), and would work for them. Ones power comes from inside, not from proving that one can disagree with or step on others. Bullies never, ever, understand that. And it’s why the absolute best revenge is a happy life. Wendy P. I agree. No one that I know thought that Obama would turn out as bad as we feared. He was/is very articulate. The better they sound the greater the suspicion. Even more so now. I agree trump tells it like it is. Imagine court proceedings and the rule of law applying to autocrats. The bad relationship. US stupidity and foolishness. DJL 235 #204 July 16, 2018 airdvr*** She had too much political clout and everyone knew it. In any other election Bernie Sanders would've been gone before the first quarter. Everyone else stayed home so she took the nomination. What? You don't think the DNC had anything to do with it? Yes, she owned the DNC which is what forced out Bernie. If there was a broader field they would have forced out those candidates too. You and Ron both seem to think the country belongs to you, and everyone else just lives there. It's an ugly attitude. Those are the heavily populated areas of progressive liberalism. They think the rest of the country should support their problems. Thus, they seek to spread their disease. The rest of us are trying to contain it, to quarantine them. In 2020 if our economy is strong, our borders secure, and we are militarily dominant we will be on our way to a great America again. If not, I fear we will descend into chaos. If a progressive liberal is the next POTUS that person will seek revenge to teach us a lesson. Then we will have SHTF. How are those people not "the rest of the country"? You seem to think they want you to 'support their problems', yet you seem to want to force your way of life down their throats. What right do you have to 'quarantine' them? Do they have the same right to try to quarantine you? The huge deficits brought on by the stupid tax cuts for the rich, the economic problems brought on by trade wars and the damage done by Russian meddling will bring on huge problems. If you think that will 'make America great', then you are simply fooling yourself. In what ways did Obama 'seek revenge'? (real ones, not the ones running around in your imagination) You project your desires on your opponents. Just because you would seek revenge doesn't mean that the next President will. And in what way will the "Shit hit the fan"? You've been predicting this for a long, long time now. It has yet to even come close. Will the Trumpettes rise up and fight if he is impeached? I've seen lots of claims that something like that will happen, but the level of actual ability and dedication of those 'keyboard warriors' is pathetic. I think they overdid the unelectable part myself. But they made it very clear, even introducing HRC as the next candidate before the decision had been officially made and with Sanders sitting right there in the room. wmw999 2,587 #211 July 16, 2018 Some of this “paying for” is, like everything else, a matter of perspective. I pay for welfare because of failed birth control education because a scientific evaluation of such education is rejected. You pay for women who won’t “keep their legs together.” I pay for a failed attempt to initiate regime change in Iraq. You pay for I’m not sure what — they weren’t meddling. There is no evidence they were meddling. I pay for additional air conditioning and (soon enough) coastal flood relief because of increased warmth in the country. Failure to plan. You do, too, but you figure it’s just God’s will and bad luck, except for people in the inner city. I pay for others’ medical care due to bad choices in food, drink, drugs, and lack of exercise. And they don’t care. Those are your neighbors (Georgia is #20 in obesity, with an increasing rate). Should I resent paying for that? Or should I encourage education about the impact of diet on health? (That was one of Michelle Obama’s initiatives) Your state gets more from the government than it pays in taxes. In fact, just about all of the states that you want to “quarantine” pay more than they get. In a country of 300+ million, you don’t get to pick and choose values based only on local religious or regional ideals. You are likely to reject this post as irrelevant because it doesn’t match your preconceptions. And, of course, you know what’s right and what’s wrong. Science and facts don’t work that way. Feelings and religion do. They’re fine, in their own quarantined world. Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
JoeWeber 2,936 #212 July 16, 2018 JoeWeber******you can ask RonD1120 himself for the verification of the story. It's not like he ever denied it the other couple of times that it came up. You asked for examples. I gave them to you. 'fake news' right? So easy not having to think when you can simply parrot rhetoric like that. I would expect nothing less from you.... And it is not like I have to prove anything to you anyway, like suddenly you will change your views or even that your viewpoint matters in the greater picture of things I have my well-founded opinions of RonD and he is the worst of what Christianity and religion bring to the table. I wouldn't sell him my snot. The Holy Spirit is dealing with me now about this issue. At the time you were bragging about aiding and abetting an enemy of the U.S.A. in a wartime situation. I was angered and I reacted, yes, overreacted. I was foolish and nothing productive has come from my transgression. At this juncture, I sincerely apologize. I am sorry for my behavior and I ask for your forgiveness. And who advised you to rat him out? The Holy Spirit? The Devil? Some other poltergeist? I'm curious, Ron, if it's always the devil making you do it why do you need forgiveness? I found your private reply to me, a reply to this post which I reply to here, both nonsensical and self serving. I am stunned that you go through the day believing in woo-woo crap like that ratting out TK was an "ego linear decision based on personal emotion justified by acute patriotism". Hardly. You were just being a garden variety asshole. Why not tell TK directly that, like you, he also needed his conscience freed? My query was as to which Spirit caused you to do the awful thing that now needs forgiveness. And, if it was caused by one of your Spirits, then why would you need forgiveness? For your answer I'm told you are in therapy with the Holy Spirit. Nuff said, I reckon. Ron, I mean this: I think you are beyond bad for our country. You want to jam your religious garbage down all of our throats and cause us to live according to some damn idiot interpretation of those bogus old books you cherish. But that's not all of it. You also want the rest of us to live in accordance with the racism, bigotry, misogynism and intellectual laziness that is your natural self and which fits so neatly into the brand of religion you spout. The United States is just a locale, globally speaking, and just a moment in time historically speaking. Christianity is just one of the monotheism's all of which are plagiarisms from a variety previous one true faiths. There is simply nothing special about it. Worldwide, secularism is ascendant. The peoples of the world are realizing that less religion equals more happiness. Were you to pry yourself out of happy land and travel you might learn that multiculturalism thrives and the world by necessity is becoming more heterogenous over time. Views such as yours are in a long denouement and that will not change. Now that doesn't mean you can't fuck things up for the rest of us in the meantime. You can and that's my bitch. But in the end, and what consoles me, is that all that you believe will be left on histories dump heap.

So no one you know thought that Obama would be that bad, and he turned out to not be that bad (i.e. didn't ban guns, didn't make gay marriage mandatory, didn't impose a US caliphate.) But you still believe that he was trying to grab all your guns, impose Sharia law, was a Muslim Socialist from Kenya etc? There's a pretty severe disconnect there, and I suspect it's because binary worlds are easier to live with; less cognitive dissonance when it turns out that Trump was colluding with Russia, or paid a porn star to keep his affair with her under cover, or was assaulting women for decades. You can always say "well, Hillary would have been worse." >President Trump does not even try to sugar coat anything. Agreed. He just lies.
