Fox “News” finally goes full Racist

*********All right, but apart from the Budweiser, margaritas, frankfurters, hamburgers, Cajun culture, jambalaya, kindergarten, apple pie, cars, cowboys, the music to the Star Spangled Banner, morality, language, and religions, what have the immigrants ever done for us?
;)

The statue of liberty?
And nuclear bombs. And nuclear reactors. And spaceflight. But other than that - NOTHING!

Well, the telephone too.

Basketball. And YouTube. Jeans, too. Oh, should probably mention the Pen and the Contraceptive pill as well.
Nothing particularly useful, really.

Tell that to the Apaches.

I've known two Mescalero Apaches. One in Taos NM in the late '70s and the other up here in the mountains. The latter is a Desert Storm warrior and leader in two veteran groups.

Neither one ever mentioned what you are referencing.

It would be funny to hear you tell them about how immigration is ruining America, and natives like yourself won't stand for it anymore.

Like I said, it is not an issue now.

Sometimes racist ties are stronger than native ties.

Hatred makes for interesting bedfellows.

And sometimes folks simply lack any concern for progressive liberal issues.

>Ron may interpret that as a personal attack

Hey, progressives are forward-looking; that's part of the definition. They look forward to the future, and don't dwell on the past, or want it to return - and he just defined himself that way. Ron just doesn't like the word because it appears next to "liberal" a lot.

Also keep in mind that to someone 100 years ago, Ron is a flaming liberal, since he professes to accept blacks in his neighborhood and doesn't mind interracial marriage. That alone would have gotten him run out of many churches in the 1920's. Likewise, if Ron could see 100 years into the future to someone who is "far right" at that time, he'd think that person was an evil progressive liberal. Society moves on.

Considering you are pining for how things used to be, guided by a book that tells 2,000 year old fables, that statement is rather laughable.

As in issues about which conservatives nearly always end up on the wrong side of history? Those "progressive liberal issues"?

You know, Christ, and therefore christians (though not necessarily Christians, who are often christian in name only), typically came down on the pro side when it came to progressive issues. They were/are very concerned, and opposed conservatives at every opportunity.

You may not be aware but, the phrase "Christian in name only" has no meaning to Christians. Being a Christian is a choice. There are many steps on the path of sanctification. We are accepted through the atoning blood of Jesus the Christ on the cross not punished for our shortcomings. We do reap what we sow just like everyone.

Therefore, there are all sorts of Christians. We are all pilgrims doing what we know to do, hoping we get it right when we don't know, and repent when we knowingly do wrong.

The worse thing that can happen to you is when you die and stand before Jesus the Christ and He says depart from Me. I never knew you.

The old saying, we are not perfect, we are forgiven. That is, if you ask for it.

And yet you use it to separate yourself from "make believe" Christians.

RonD:That is true. A Christian will not, can not, be persuaded to turn away from truth.

Jakee: So how come some of them do?

RonD: I believe they were Christian in name only, similar to what we call RINOs. They never experienced true salvation. Judas Iscariot is the Biblical example of a make believe Christian.
==============
2015:
RonD: The poll does not indicate whether they are Christian In Name Only or Born Again Christian.

Good catch. I forgot about that line of thought.

Now that you know about it, do you think were you wrong then or wrong now?
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

On the other hand, most christians understand its meaning.

I misunderstood your point. I've got nothing at this juncture.

Why are there so many subsets of Christians, Ron?

Surely you're a Christian if you follow the teachings of Jesus and you're not if you don't?

I wouldn't have thought you get to go 'I agree with these things he said, but not these bits - BUT I'm still a Christian.'?

By that rationale I completely agree with the whole 'try not to be a dick to each other' part so therefore I'm a Christian.

Since this came up I have been pondering the concept.

There are two, for the purpose of this discussion, aspects of Christianity. One is salvation and the other is spiritual enlightenment.

Salvation is basically linear. If I accept Jesus's atoning death on the cross as The Son of God and His resurrection then I am saved. Then I receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to guide me in sanctification.

Spiritual enlightenment is non-linear. It is the development of sanctification on the path of eternal life. The Holy Spirit is constantly enhancing individual spirit and soul in sanctification. It is dynamic creating the wonders of God as the attachment to the world is forsaken.
