Only time I ever saw her sing was in the cafe scene in The Blues Brothers. She was perfect for that role, as were all the other soul musicians that had roles in it.

But. Could you hear her? :P
I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

Her man in that scene, Matt "Guitar" Murphy passed away in June of this year.
Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Oh yeah, I saw the movie like 25-30 times when I was still able to hear with the help of hearing aids.

Of course, sometimes I mis-read lips or words spoken in that movie. Like when the two cops are sitting behind a sign and the Blues Brothers went racing by, the black cop says "I don't believe it's that jet box car again!" or was it shit black car? :D
