warpedskydiver 0 #1 August 10, 2006 This was sent by a friend: Well, today you got the "terror threat" I told you was coming. Duh. So here is the deal if you are a Republican: If you believe in our constitution and the rule of law, if you don't know what PNAC is, if you haven't read UN resolutions 242 & 338, if you don't know that wars rarely go well for the attacker, if you don't know what a chickenhawk is, if you don't know the difference between a Jewish person and a Zionist, if you haven't yet noticed that no one in the current administration knows how to wage war because all of them chose to cut-and-run from Vietnam, if you think 9/11 happened because they "hate democracy and hate our freedoms", if you think war is OK but have never personally witnessed violent death up close, if you think wearing a little flag or a blue hair ribbon makes you a patriot, then you are part of the dumbing-down of America and you need to do the rest of us a favor in November and please STAY HOME. Seriously. Do your homework. Stay home. Have a Latte. Watch the news, But don't be fooled again.

The Project for the New American Century intends, through issue briefs, research papers, advocacy journalism, conferences, and seminars, to explain what American world leadership entails. It will also strive to rally support for a vigorous and principled policy of American international involvement and to stimulate useful public debate on foreign and defense policy and America's role in the world. miked10270 0 #8 August 11, 2006 Hmmm... America getting into the "Empire-Building" business!!? PNAC is either absolutely terrifying, or a vision of a Brave New World... I'm thinking Huxley rather than Shakespeare. Mike. Taking the piss out of the FrenchAmericans since before it was fashionable. That's not a reasonable option, primarily because forcing other countries to disarm would need to be an offensive military action itself. You're talking WWIII here at least. Nightingale 0 #25 August 12, 2006 QuoteWhy should we force others [and who currently, are these others?] to disarm?.. If we have a strong defensive capability, we would not need to be offensive[sic] to anyone. Well, you said you wanted all countries to have a military with only defensive capabilities. How do you plan on achieving that? Do you really think China/Korea/Saudi Arabia/Iran, etc... are going to just voluntarily give up their offensive capabilities? The US has very strong defensive capabilities already. So far, we haven't had a conflict on our own soil with another nation in a very long time. What we have had is conflicts with individuals and organizations that operate under the radar. Reducing our own offensive capabilities and those of other nations isn't going to solve that problem at all. It doesn't even begin to address it. What you're proposing seems extremely naive.
