Snowwhite 0 #1 March 13, 2007 Very sad news has reached the offices of the WFFC. Long time friend and WFFC supporter/volunteer, Carol Allaman was stricken with an aneurysm on Thursday night. She had a valiant fight over the weekend, but passed away as a result of the condition. We will always remember Carol as that bright smiling person who never said "no" when we asked for help. Carol was scheduled to be a part of the safety briefing on Saturday at Taylorville, Illinois, after some good natured ribbing from the dropzone at Geneseo, Illinois about "who gets to have Carol for safety day this year." Sadly she never got to be a part of either event. Everybody knew that all you had to do was ask, and Carol would share her smile, her wisdom, her talent and her wit. Every year at the WFFC, Carol would gather a bunch of little kids on the spectator side to show them how a parachute worked. Many times you would look over, and she would have a crowd of adults peering over the shoulders of the kids to see this terrific lady explaining all of the mechanics of the rig, and the thrill of the jump. She would volunteer in Gear Check, or lend a hand at about anything that was asked of her. I'll particulary miss her in the POA meetings that we will be having to finish up plans for this years Convention.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
