yoink 321 #1 September 22, 2017 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41367128 Talking about bipartisanship: Quote"without which a policy that affects one-fifth of our economy and every single American family will be subject to reversal with every change of administration and congressional majority." Absolutely. Take the time to do it right otherwise it'll be a continual clusterfuck with every election, no matter who wins. Well done, Senator. If only your colleagues had the same backbone. kallend 2,150 #2 September 22, 2017 Paul has said he'll vote "No", and Collins is most likely to. Murkowski hasn't committed yet (it looks as if the bill has a BIG bribe for Alaska).... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
billvon 3,119 #3 September 22, 2017 >Murkowski hasn't committed yet (it looks as if the bill has a BIG bribe for Alaska). And the bribe is awesome. The bribe is (wait for it) - Alaska gets to keep Obamacare. "Hey! You better vote for this bill. It will be awesome. We don't know what its effects will be, but it will be awesome, trust us. What? You don't want to? OK, we will make sure this awesome bill doesn't affect you. Now vote for it already!"
tkhayes 348 #4 September 22, 2017 Trumpcare done and finished. In his likely last year on earth, John McCain proves himself once again to be a voice of reason, an honorable man, and worthy of the respect he has earned over a lifetime. And the GOP probably should be ashamed of being such fucking assholes to try and decimate healthcare for so many people. Glad there are still politicians above all that crap. I will be writing my Congressman (again) to let him know what a spineless piece of crap he is on this issue and how out of touch with any level of reality he is. I am sure Florida will re-elect him, of course.
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #5 September 22, 2017 Well, to be fair, calling this legislation 'Health Care Reform' is a bit of a stretch. "Health Care Devastation" would be a bit more accurate."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Well, "devastation" is not very politically correct term. Someone could become offended. Lindsey Graham might get the vapors. Now, back to Puerto Rico, where residents are excited about Hurricane Maria's reforms.
kallend 2,150 #7 September 26, 2017 Senate GOP leadership announces that there will NOT be a vote on Trumpcare this week. Expect a tweetstorm attacking some diversionary targets from President Biglyloser.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. ryoder 1,590 #9 September 26, 2017 yoink Well done, Senator. If only your colleagues had the same backbone. My theory is that McCain now has the luxury of doing what he thinks is right, w/o concern for being re-elected. I read up on his illness and found the average life expectancy after diagnosis is 12 months (with treatment). Without treatment, it is 3 months."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.
