A few good things to come out of Charlottesville

I am asking you for your opinion on something. Are you saying your opinion is too simplified to state?

FYI, from your link:

Quote

The problem isn’t proving specific changes (for example showing that the southern bloc used to vote Democratic Party and now they vote Republican),

Also from my link it talks about Southern Social Conservative Democrats switched parties and joined Northern Civil Rights Republicans.

if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

You asked for printed history that the dixiecrats became republicans. Then you supply a link yourself that clearly shows this to be true.

Your response: the link also says something unrelated.

Having comprehension problems today I see.

Let me help.

I saw what you posted before.

It absolutely says that.
But you would run with it and say see, they flip flopped so the Dems back then are the Republicans of today.

Nope
It also says Dems switched sides and joined with civil rights Republicans, which refutes your narrative.

Hope that helps you catch up

Just because one thing happened doesn't mean that something unrelated happened.

You are creating an argument nobody has made and are arguing against that. Why are you doing this? Well, because you clearly were wrong as usual.

Nobody is arguing that what people through 50 or 100 years ago as a Democrat or a Republican is relevant today. Only you are making that argument, because you heard on some idiotic radio program or (much more unlikely read) on a website that back then they were called Democrats.

So that is all you have been doing since then is spewing: Democrats, Democrats, Democrats.

When people tried to explain that those people switched to the republican party in those days you kept mumbling Democrat, Democrat, Democrat and asked for peer reviewed studies backing up that assertion. (Never mind that anybody with half a brain could have looked it up)

You were presented with that.

Ever since then you have gone back to what you always do, mumble something unintelligent and make up something nobody is arguing.

His first line:

"Since we’re being candid, allow me to say how much I dislike your post. Everything about it annoys me – your smug and snarky tone, your appalling grammar, your complete lack of evidence to support your claims, and of course, the overarching logical fallacy that informs your entire position."

Who here does that best describe?

Looks like you still need someone to "supply think" for you. Good luck.

The most important words of the quote you forwarded

it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Levin, Rush and Hannity are all in a full-court press with this one. They're pushing the phrase "Myth of the Southern Strategy" over how the two parties reversed position over Civil Rights in their effort to discredit contemporary Democrats.

This is probably the dumbest point to try to take in politics, the information is out there with pictures of candidates waving and standing in front of Confederate flags, it's in their speeches, etc. Hell, in 2005 Ken Mehlman, Chairman of the Republican National Committee even apologized to the NAACP over the racism inherent in the Southern Strategy.

Why does that matter?

If there's one thing that Trump has demonstrated, it's that lies work if you repeat them often enough.

Well there it is then. I couldn't really understand why Marc was pushing this. And where he got the silly talking points from. Now I know. Breitbart Nation has been given the marching orders of the day and our loyal soldier is bravely spreading it like a farmer spreads manure in the fields.

Hardly new. Proven long before Trump. Remember the run up to the Iraq invasion? And I'm sure the strategy is much older than that.

This is absolutely priceless, good sir, and you can consider it stolen. If this was reddit I'd probably have gold for you.

Thank you. But I honestly think that SkyDekker's "Same reason I throw a ball for my dog. " was even better.

******If you know how every "argument" with Marc is going to end, why do you keep engaging?

Same reason I throw a ball for my dog.

The circle of fun you guys engage in this great to watch

Marc, yer like a Timex. Ya take a lickin' and ya keep on tickin'.

I have to give him credit for that. Assuming he is not a Russian/Breitbart troll-bot. He just keeps coming back.

Too bad he didn't have athletic gifts as he would have been a world champion.

Ok, this is tacky.
A. Marc, you've become a caricature of yourself. That's a shame, because you used to (and occasionally still do) contribute valid counterpoints. Now it's just talking points, with no meat behind them.

B. Everyone else: he's been here for over 15 years; before the Russians got into trolling. Making fun of people was wrong in middle school. Maybe ignoring is better. Ignoring content-free stuff has reduced my irritation level (and my participation level...) at SC.

A. I think you and RuskiMC are in cahoots.

B. That's exactly what someone in cahoots with a Russian spy would say.
