billvon 3,131 #1 July 5, 2017 With the ACA more popular than ever (51% favorable, 41% unfavorable) and the republican's planned replacement hideously unpopular (only 30% support it) republicans have been desperate to find a way to generate negative propaganda against the ACA. So they posted this question to Facebook: ============== Did you lose a doctor that you liked? Have your premiums increased? Did your insurer leave the exchange? Are burdensome regulations hurting your small business? We were promised Obamacare would make healthcare cheaper, better, and more available, but in reality it's turned out to be the opposite. What's your Obamacare horror story? Let us know. ============== They didn't get quite what they wanted. Some replies (most recent as of 11 am): I went 3 years without insurance because I have MS. I couldn't get any insurance company to even offer a high deductible policy. It was a nightmare. With the ACA I was able to get a very affordable policy that covered treatment and medication. I fear for what the American people will get (or not get) with the republicans plan. Give us the same coverage you have at the same rate. At least most of us are doing our jobs and earning our way. I have a self employed nephew with 3 small children and had to take them to emergency rooms when they got sick as he hardly has enough money for food. Now they go to the emergency clinics and get free health care and prescriptions. I have been insured although I work two part time jobs which do not give me coverage...GO OBAMACARE! My family of 4 now has affordable health insurance with Obamacare. This means my husband and I can work on our small business together, making it more successful. And we both get to spend more time with our kids. I'm spending the summer with them instead of sending them to a bunch of camps they don't like (camps are really pricey in my area as well). Without Obamacare, we would both need to work full time-me working for a larger company for the benefits. We would spend less time with our kids and would not be running a successful small business. Thanks, Obama!!! I work two jobs, own a small business and take care of my parents when Medicare and supplemental insurance isn't enough, all while paying almost 40% in taxes! Obama care was the first insurance I had in 20 years and prior to that the only preventative care I received was at Planned Parenthood. Despite what people may think, you can't go to a doctor's walk-in or emergency room to get a yearly check up so thank you Planned Parenthood for taking care of me for almost 20 years and thank you President Obama for finally giving me the health care I work hard for and deserve!
