Ad for Mar-A-Lago

Recommended Posts

Here's a nice ad for Trump's Florida property:

===========
When socialite and cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post built Mar-a-Lago — Spanish for “Sea to Lake” — in 1927, she spared no expense. The 114-room mansion sits on 8 hectares of land, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and an inland waterway on the other.
============

And even better - you're all paying for it! This ad is hosted on the U.S. Embassy website.

On the bright side, I've been reading that when FL starts getting warm, they expect him to be spending weekends at his golf course in Bedminster NJ.

Hi Mark,

Quote

if we were to replace "Mar-A-Lago" with "Clinton Foundation".

And which one is costing the American tax payers.

Jack Kingston, Trump supporter and former congressman, today cleared it all up by blaming Obama for the ad.

Really.

I wonder what the reaction would be if we were to replace "Mar-A-Lago" with "Clinton Foundation".

Apples and oranges. A better analogy would be "Mar-A-Lago" with "Clinton's New York Estate." Course we didn't hear much from the liberal side on the amount of money that was costing.

Nor, that [Clinton and his office received more money through the Former Presidents Act than any other ex-president...taxpayers will have paid out more than $16 million to fund Bill Clinton’s pension, travel, office expenses and even the salaries and benefits of staff at his family’s foundation, federal records showhttp://www.politico.com/story/2015/03/taxpayer-tab-for-clinton-inc-16-million-116008

Regarding Bill's snip, it does not share the web post was for informational and historical purposes:

Quote

Mar-a-Lago’s original builder, Marjorie Merriweather Post, willed the property to the federal government upon her death in 1973, with the stipulation it be used as a winter retreat for the president.

“Her plan didn’t work, however,” the post’s author, Leigh Hartman, wrote, explaining how the government returned the property to Post’s trust because it cost too much money to maintain. Trump bought the property and its furniture in 1985, and he opened it a decade later as a private club.

I'm glad there's plenty of rock's to throw at both sides otherwise SC wouldn't exist.

Nope, nor did I miss the news about the Clintons building a pool house and charging enough for the secret service that it paid the remaining mortgage. There's plenty of rocks to go around. Right now, I am observing and assessing. My rock pile will go in two directions if need be. ;)

OK. My sister built one of those recently too. Worked great; kids hung out there instead of going into town.

>and charging enough for the secret service that it paid the remaining mortgage.

?? The Secret Service paid their mortgage? Or they sent the Secret Service a bill for the mortgage? Or they sent someone else a bill for Secret Service and when they got the money they used it to pay the mortgage instead of paying for Secret Service? None of that makes sense.
