"Workin' nine to five, what a way to make a livin'
Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin'
They just use your mind and they never give you credit
It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it
Nine to five, for service and devotion
You would think that I would deserve a fat promotion
Want to move ahead but the boss won't seem to let me
I swear sometimes that man is out to get me!"

While the amount of cronyism and nepotism in this administration is abhorrent, this particular item is at least welcome news. Valid concerns had been raised about her previous "voluntary" adherence to the ethics rules - if she voluntarily opted in, she could have voluntarily opted out.

TBH, I think this is a good thing. She and her husband will be better voices than Bannon and Miller.

I think Jared & Ivanka ore the only members of that group to not have made asinine public statements since Trump took office. So I'll give them credit for either:
a) Not being as dumb as the rest.
b) Being at least smart enough to keep their mouths shut.

From what I've read of Bannon, people who have known him for a long time say he is as bad as Trump, but without the incredible ignorance. i.e. he is an asshole, but knows better than to make a public fool of himself.

Further evidence to the theory that the Trump candidacy and follow-on administration has been driven and guided from the onset by Bannon. He gets to play in the White House, but he used someone else's money to do it, gets to stay out of the line of fire, is required to produce nothing, and will suffer zero lasting public condemnation afterward. Genius.

Kushner seems to be the best hope for any sanity to emerge from the Trump administration. Not to say that's a great hope.

Well, is is not blood relation, so at least he can't have inherited the idiocy gene.:D

Personally, I don't like that the best hope for the holder of a political office is a family member, and not the rule of law.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Well, since most of the GOP takes the position yes-we-know-he's-a-mental-case-but-he-is*our*-mental-case, then I'll gladly take an adult with influence in that inner circle.

And it just gets better! http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2017/04/06/steve-bannon-calls-jared-kushner-a-cuck-and-globalist-behind-his-back.html

I'm really mystified at how Kushner has apparently developed more influence than even Uday & Qusay.

and for those like me that don't know:

A brief history on the term cuck: The term "cuck" is short for a much older term used often by Shakespeare — "cuckold," which literally refers to a man whose spouse is unfaithful.

Origins: The word was derived from the cuckoo bird, whose females lay their eggs in different nests.

Racial insinuation: In pornography, the cuckold was most often a white man whose white wife cheated on him with a black man, according to GQ.

Political use: During the 2016 election season, the term became a favorite of the alt-right to describe mainstream Republicans who did not support Donald Trump — "cuckservatives" — whom they saw as weak.

From the article:

"For instance, Bannon’s far-right media allies are ready to wage a sustained war on their new enemy, Kushner."

Hey, if they can get their fill of war from interoffice politics, probably better for the rest of the world.

Rumor: Bannon & Priebus about to get the boot?

Brilliant. The first thirteen (somehow) weeks of Trump's presidency have been so unbelievably successful that he needs to replace all of his closest advisors. Because he's used up all of their good advice too quickly, I guess?:D

I think Trump is simply driven more by a desire to be liked than anything else. Bannon would have sold him that he would be adored. His approval ratings are in the dumps, so time for a change.

Though since Americans get a general hard-on for bloodshed and war, I would expect a modest bump in response to firing missiles.

Yup. We literally celebrate our independence by shooting rockets and blowing things up. Better yet when there's someone on the receiving end.
