Over a black-and-white movie clip of a city burning, he called it a “typical night for Detroit.” In 2014 he apologized for a airing a graphic over his shoulder that offended some viewers for its allusion to suicide. A photo of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was captioned: “Cut him or cut your wrists.” Later Giangreco said: “My remarks were inappropriate, and I deeply regret and apologize for this incident.” Nice guy. Please don't dent the planet. Giangreco was also honored in 1982 with the Louisville Journalism Award for his excellence in sports reporting. Giangreco Tweeted, "Donald Trump: a hateful ignorant corrupt simpleton supported by 87% of Republicans. So obvious, so disturbing America exposed [sic] as a country full of simpletons who allowed this cartoon lunatic to be 'elected'. Ok,Ok,Ok trump's support among republicans is only 84%, but the rest is accurate. No wonder he has won so many awards. He has a knack for stating the obvious in concise terms. quade 4 #4 February 25, 2017 airdvr Chicago’s ABC-7 Suspends Sportscaster Mark Giangreco for Calling Donald Trump a ‘Cartoon Lunatic’ Nice guy. So, I'm a bit confused, Trump says "the media" are liars and out to get him. Okay, one guy in "the media" spouts off and makes a single comment on twitter and is fired by his "the media" bosses. Meanwhile, Trump is denying access to other members of "the media" today simply for doing their actual jobs and, of course, Trump spouts off about them constantly on Twitter on a near daily basis. Hmmm... Again, corporate media reins in an individual. Meanwhile individual (Trump) denies access to corporate media (CNN, NYT, LAT, etc.). Okay, nothing to see here, carry on. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Can we fire the guy who is attempting to limit the freedom of the press over at The White House? While I really hate to defend Trump... I what way is he "limiting freedom of the press"? Is he arresting reporters (or having them beat up or murdered)? Is he sending his goon squad out to trash newspaper offices or TV studios? He's refusing to talk to certain news organizations. He's taken the position that if someone says something bad about him that he will 'take his ball and go home'. While it demonstrates that he and his administration have the maturity of a 5 year old (and that's being a bit generous), it's not illegal or unconstitutional. It's also backfiring big time. It's making it pretty clear that: A - He has something to hide. B - The stuff that is being reported is likely true. Edit to add: C- He wants to be a dictator, not President."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." According to his posting history, he did seem to have a problem when the obama admin subpoenaed records of 20 AP reporters and labeled Rosen as a "criminal co-conspirator" in order to obtain his personal phone calls and emails. What A hypocrite! Lets see what he says if Trump does anything even remotely similar in response to the WH leaks. . .

We don't. We have opinion stations that are more concerned with being first than being correct. I see it everywhere I look. Fox, CNN, MSNBC all stopped "reporting" years ago. I tried the local paper but it was nearly as bad. You're correct when you say they are afraid of losing ratings. The Voice has the same concern. Please don't dent the planet. wmw999 2,586 #18 March 1, 2017 Good. I traded comments recently on news aggregators that lean one way or the other recently; I like the magazine The Week, he likes the website RealClearPolitics. The nice thing about aggregators is that they don't really insert much opinion of their own. The Week includes columns etc. from different sides and countries; I think they tend liberal because I tend to like them. RealClearPolitics tends more conservative, but they, too, more just contrast and compare headlines from different news sources. I don't like online as much as magazine for this (for one thing, then you can't work the crossword in the bathroom ), but both seem pretty honest in their approach. Wendy P. I'm as guilty of it as anyone. But lately I've looked with a more critical eye towards motivation and reward when it comes to my news sources. I agree that the day where every single newspaper has a couple reporters. Is over. News from Facebook, Breitbart and small websites that have authors that offer opinions on every single area of economics, politics, war, race, sociology, international relations, etc. All fall into the same sewer pipe of thought. How about adding lies to the equation. That when you find a news site that lies. That gives an answer to a problem without dealing with the potential failures of that option. Without mentioning the drawbacks, The end game, The 10-50-100 other factors that come into play in solving the problem. Is also lying to you as well. What about the politicians that won't answer a straight question with a straight answer. Who won't even take questions from someone. That in order to buy "A" you have to tax "Y" and if "A" doesn't equal "Y" the difference may have to be borrowed from "Z". What about the answers to complex problems that blame racial or religious groups to pander to a group of racists, fascists, to those who would hold one religion over the heads of another religious group. Does those motivations count as well?
