Yes. He blamed the press, even though it was Trump who fired him. Trump also said he was "wonderful" and that "I think he’s been treated very, very unfairly by the media — as I call it, the fake media, in many cases. I think it’s really a sad thing he was treated so badly.”

The term "cognitive dissonance" is used in clinical evaluations correctly followed by the phrase "as indicated by" requiring clinical evidence.

Billvon used the phrase as a put down of my understanding and acceptance of President Trump. As such that would be clinically incorrect.

He could accurately state that he does not understand President Trump or me and remain within professional bounds.

I believe it quite safe to say he lacks understanding. That puts the challenge on him not on me or President Trump. However, it is obvious that this audience is mostly just skydivers and therefore not a big deal.
