The POTUS has just refused to follow the lawful Act of Congress & will NOT impose the sanctions on Russians. Not a veto, Congress could override that!

I actually sort of agree with you - it's REALLY difficult to lie to the FBI and get away with it. As it should be. However if you're innocent and have nothing to hide YOUR 'tried and true' lawyers will be able to explain away small human inconsistencies in your explanation, and judges understand that.

This delusion of a single unimportant change in your statement immediately leading to a charge of Lying to the FBI is complete nonsense. Ask any law enforcement professional if you don't believe me.

The charge seems to be brought up when the lie that is told has some significant effect on a real investigation. e.g 'I wasn't there' when actually you were. Again, as it should be.

I believe it was Lewis Carroll that said the Devil's greatest achievement was to convince some people that he doesn't exist. I believe his second best achievement was to convince people that there is a difference between the Democrat and Republican parties.

While religion has thousands of years of documented insanity, the political insanity in this country seems to have started about 10 years ago. Mostly due to racism from what I've witnessed.

Apparently, Trump told a minion to fire Mueller. The minion said he would quit before doing so.

This, all by itself is not 'obstruction of justice.'

Just like the firing of Comey wasn't, all by itself.

BUT...

If Trump intended to hamper, or eliminate altogether, the investigation into Russia's interference with the election and the collusion of the Trump campaign with Russian nationals, then it is obstruction.

Seeing as Trump asked Comey specifically to 'make the investigation go away' and fired him when he wouldn't, that would go a long way towards proving obstruction.

If Trump can be shown to say anything like "I want that investigation stopped. Fire Mueller so that the investigation goes away", then that would go a long way towards proving intent.

One or two instances of this sort of behavior, one or two witnesses testifying that Trump made incriminating statements will not prove intent or obstruction.

However, I have a 'funny feeling' that there will be a lot more than 'one or two.'

We're on the same page. From the history so far it'll be hard to pin anything not in writing and we know that nobody cares about the words that come out of his mouth. He's basically written a preemptive precedent that what he says has no bearing in reality whether it's that he could kill someone in the middle of the street, sexually assault someone, provide direct aid to Iranian protesters...
