PolitiFact Is a joke. And you've never listened to Rush Limbaugh. Got it

Politifact's a fine site. And I've heard Rush. He insults my intelligence, as do all right wing radio hosts. I'm just not dumb enough to be a conservative I guess.

So you are a better arbiter of true and false. OK...

I've listened to some. Most of them string stuff together to support their predetermined point, rather than looking at what's out there and then making a decision. Dave Ramsey (who is primarily finances) is a genius. Mike Savage, on the other hand, is an asshole.

Just because you string facts together doesn't mean you have a truthful picture. If you want to support a point, fine -- just identify the point and then use stuff to support it. Don't pretend that the only facts that matter or exist are the ones you chose. Rush L hasn't figured that out, or he's not intellectually honest enough to admit it. Probably the second

Ramsay isn't terrible, although I'm not a fan of his religious tinge. I worked in that industry for many years before getting a golden handshake to leave, and while some of his information and advice is decent, some of it is cringeworthy - especially when I hear him telling people to use a 12% rate of return to plan their retirement savings. That's a number that isn't realistic for planning generally, definitely isn't for most people. And he pushes a lot of junk product. That said, his approach to getting out of debt makes sense, certainly.

Most of the rest of them I listen to for a form of comic relief now and then, mainly because I wish I was devoid of a conscience and the ethics that render me unable to become some kind of right wing or evangelical carnival barker, out fleecing marks.

I don't know how intellectually honest Limbaugh is or isn't.

But that's not the point. It's his listeners who simply want to hear what he tells them. They don't care about opposing views or even the truth.
They simply want their views and opinions reinforced.

That's why it's called an echo chamber. Part of the problem I've noticed with trying to engage in any sort of productive discussion with folks who listen to that kind of stuff is that they only seem to understand the world in terms of absurd reductionism and strawman arguments. And that's what talk radio caters to.

For better or worse, far more liberal-minded people seem to a) not all only believe the same things and b) be able to engage in more productive discussion and be more open to different ideas and able to talk them out. I have no doubt there are lots of conservatives who operate that way, they're just totally drowned out by the kind of folk who listen to Hannity, Limbaugh, BillO, and other morons.

I have, for about thirty minutes maybe. Not for ten years or more (he's been on for over twenty), but I have. The fact that I didn't like him doesn't mean I didn't listen. I also didn't like liberal firebrand Ed Schultz. I don't like to listen to radio shows that try to lead me to their conclusions. I'd rather listen to ones that present data and let me come to my own opinion.

Yes, my opinion is more liberal. But definitely not as liberal as you probably think.

Too many other people, not me, have showed how biased PolitiFact Is. I don't have to do anything. And you have proven yet again you don't have a clue about Rush Limbaugh. But that's no different than most of the other liberals on this site.

Truth has a bias, and it's against people like you.

Politifact thoroughly documents its findings, using original sources.

So does Snopes, and Factcheck.

It's no surprise that these sites are unpopular with the right.

The key question is, has anyone credible done so? The thing about fact checkers broadly is that they work by doing the research and presenting their findings. The overwhelming majority of cases they fact check are pretty simple claims, and the work isn't too complicated. Do some research, prove the claim right, or wrong, or discuss the shades of grey.

The right has attacked all sorts of fact checking organizations for the simple reason that it is to them an enormous inconvenience when they can't have someone like Rush or BillO or whoever spew nonsense, and their base believe it without questioning.

My favourite example is Snopes, which isn't even mostly political, but it's so efficient in debunking stuff that eventually the right had to attack it as a source. They failed, comically.

I have "a clue" about Rush. He's a carnival barker. Intelligent people don't listen to blowhards, who as Wendy so perfectly said, lead them to a conclusion. We tend to take more interest in engaging in discussions to thrash out the truth. That's why talk radio doesn't tend to work for liberals, we're too interested in facts and discourse. It's also the same reason the "fake news" phenomenon doesn't affect liberals nearly as much - we ask enough questions that fake news falls apart pretty quickly.

Funniest post of the year so far:D

BTW
Liberals are the ones getting caught making fake news

Your post is fake news

But then, the radical hardcore libs usually wonder how anyone can disagree with them.

As evidenced by your post here.

Oh

And talk radio does not work for libs because it exposes the failures of the left.

And no one likes to listen about failures
