The story behind the Star Spangled Banner

Recommended Posts

This video brought tears to my eyes. As we enter the new year and a renewed hope in America, watch the video and be refreshed, renewed and understand what makes America great.

Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

You can look up the accurate story if want the precise info

Yup, that about sounds like the new America.

This thing made its rounds a while ago, I think Glenn Beck was trying to get the guy on but it became too well known that he was peddling a work of fiction. It's a nice story but not accurate to any account of the events.

The author of the story, Rev. Dudley Rutherford, issued a video apology and later created "The Accurate..." version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hZe8CPGA1E&t=446s

Because "what makes America great" is adding a fictitious element to rewrite events to suit your purposes.

I think I get it now. What threw me was Ron's tears in his eyes. I assumed he would want to share this wonderful thing. But then it turns out to be just the same kind of falsehood that he is constantly pedaling. But in slightly a different flavour. Nationalism mixed with tribalism instead of straight up tribalism.

That's how Moses created the Nile River, actually.

no no no

The Nile was created out of the magically strained blood of the oppressed.

"Moses" scatters chocolate eggs on Valentines day in a gesture of appreciation for the Native Americans that helped out the pilgrim ancestors of Martin Luther King's veterans.

Bob Dylan, Nobel Laureate, did it better.

Dylan deserved that prize. Although I suspect he feels the Nobel committee is just another of the many groups trying to get a piece of him. Even after all these years.

But the 115th Dream doesn't bring a tear to my eye! This one does though.

absolutely!

but did he do it in between meetings over a ten second gap just to check in here for the daily bludgeoning?

I think not, he took his TIME to do it thoroughly and gets paid for it

here,....we pay....and pay....and pay
