turtlespeed 226 #1 September 7, 2016 Seriously? In today's world - segregated housing. Would they be forced to let in a different colored person if he or she felt discriminated against? Doesn't this go EXACTLY AGAINST anti-discrimination laws?I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
quade 4 #2 September 7, 2016 Depends on how a person wants to spin it. Obviously, Fox News wants to spin it in a certain direction. That said, I don't think there's anything wrong with a minority setting up a specific area, in this case housing, in which they can be temporarily free of the oppression of the majority. It's when it works the other way around that we should be upset. Perhaps it's a too subtle distinction for some to grasp.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

DanG 1 #4 September 8, 2016 If black students want to self-segregate into private housing, that's their right. The university shouldn't be doing it for them in public housing. - Dan G

It's a double standard by any measure, and odious any way you cut it. Racism is racism. If you want to pick and choose between 'good' racism and 'bad' racism, don't be surprised if opinions vary on the line of demarcation. I say it's all evil, as are people who support it. Doesn't this go EXACTLY AGAINST anti-discrimination laws? To be honest it does not seem like a good idea to me. But the Fox News coverage and your outrage is not really focused on discrimination. It's focused on black people getting uppity.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

billvon 3,120 #12 September 8, 2016 >Ya, just like bathrooms. Actually I lived in a coed dorm with coed bathrooms. Other people preferred the single-sex housing thing. Seemed to work, since people could choose where they wanted to live and what sort of bathroom/sex/racial/religious/lifestyle situation they wanted.
