Federal Court Rules Texas’ ID Law Violates Voting Rights Act

******no one should be surprised. I am pretty sure that Texas leads the country tenfold on violations of the VRA.

When it comes to dis-honest voting I am sure IL and Chicago lead the pack.

What is dis-honest voting? Is that when you vote for the candidate Rush doesn't like?

No - it's where you have dead people turn up to vote.

Entirely impossible.

So it has never happened?
How naive.

I'm not saying that it happens a lot, or even in a way that it makes a difference.

But it still happens.

How is that any excuse for deliberately suppressing voters? The right wingers have proven over and over again that they will do anything they legally can get away with to discourage classes of people likely to vote against them. The scam they run must be resisted.

The right wing in Canada was inspired to try the same sort of shit, but on a smaller scale. Luckily they have recently been defeated and their repressive rules reversed.

In the US you will have to wait for the courts to declare what is obvious to all who are paying attention.

Mine is functioning perfectly, thank you.
:S
You still have this issue with words.

No I have an issue with a keyboard.

Here is a CBS article - is CBS acceptable?

But enough of that:

I'll need you to point out the part where dead people showed up and voted.
It's not in there.

Like I said, impossible.

Words man, use them properly.

I'll bite: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/02/17/AR2007021701356.html

When John F. Kennedy won the 1960 presidential race, Mr. Mazo felt strongly that the Democrats had stolen the election, telling The Post in 2000: "There's no question in my mind that it was stolen. It was stolen like mad. It was stolen in Chicago and in Texas."
Tipped off by reporters in Chicago, Mr. Mazo went to the Windy City, obtained lists of voters in precincts that seemed suspicious and started checking their addresses.
"There was a cemetery where the names on the tombstones were registered and voted," he recalled. "I remember a house. It was completely gutted. There was nobody there. But there were 56 votes for Kennedy in that house."

At the urging of Chicago Democrats, Mr. Mazo went to Republican areas downstate and looked for fraud there. He found it but on a smaller scale than in Chicago. He then headed to Texas, where he documented similar Democratic electoral shenanigans.

Why do you think so many places are trying to put into place laws that keep the voting cleaner?

Because the thought panders to idiots.

Or just a quick science and math test (including climate change fundamentals, how vaccines work and the basics of evolution) to ensure an informed electorate.

Intelligence is not a requirement t vote - but every citizen of the US is required to have health care - two birds - one stone.

That is quite true! Are you turning over a new leaf?

Wow Mr. Protector - umm - try that other thread for your rebuttals.
I didn't know John needed your protection so severely.

And similar laws in Wisconsin and Kansas have been overturned or severely curtailed.

TX, NC, KS, WI.

Republicans are getting an ass-kicking on their attempts to disenfranchise the poor and minorities.
