SkyDekker 1,465 #2 July 19, 2016 Supposedly Kelly is backing up the story and now Ailes has been given until August 1 to resign or be fired for cause. http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/07/sources-kelly-said-ailes-sexually-harassed-her.html#
ryoder 1,590 #3 July 19, 2016 It takes a special kind of stupid to sexually harass a woman with a law degree. "There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.
billvon 3,118 #4 July 19, 2016 A few interesting tidbits. One is the unexpected boon of a Trump campaign: "Kelly, who has become something of a feminist icon thanks to her tangles with GOP nominee Donald Trump" Next is how despicable Kelly is for not praising her attacker: "Ailes spokesperson Irena Briganti has been criticizing Kelly . . .saying she is selfish to not stand up for the man who gave her career opportunities." Fortunately Ailes is on firm footing here, since he is getting advice from the best minds in the business: "Ailes has also received advice on strategy from Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani, sources say." Coreeece 2 #9 August 24, 2016 Wow - Andrea Tantaros joins the fight. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/23/business/media/andrea-tantaros-of-fox-news-claims-retaliation-for-harassment-complaints.html?_r=0 “Fox News masquerades as a defender of traditional family values, but behind the scenes, it operates like a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency and misogyny” "Fox News offered to pay her a sum “in the seven figures” if she renounced claims against Mr. Ailes and others at the network, including the host Bill O’Reilly. According to the lawsuit, Ms. Tantaros said she had been subjected to unwelcome advances from Mr. O’Reilly, whom she had regarded as a friend and adviser." "Ms. Tantaros joined Fox as a contributor in 2010, and a year later was named co-host of “The Five,” which aired at 5 p.m. She said in the suit that she was repeatedly told by Fox executives that she could not wear pants on the air because “Roger wants to see your legs.”Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
headoverheels 334 #10 August 24, 2016 Ironically she has a history of downplaying sexual assaults in the news . One case that comes to mind is that of rapes in the military , which she minimized the importance of . Now that it concerns her, and she might get a lot of money for it, it seems much more important somehow.
RonD1120 62 #11 August 24, 2016 Way back a few months, Glenn Beck did a short piece on how Fox News uses lighting to show off the ladies' legs. He was neutral and basically explained it was technique to attract viewers, the name of the game. It was part of the strategy to present the news with a clean and beautiful set as opposed to a cluttered news room atmosphere. I don't understand why giving a woman a compliment on her looks is harassment in the workplace. The feminist movement has firmly established that all men are rapists. That has now, IMO, morphed into the LBGT phenomena.Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them. SkyDekker 1,465 #12 August 24, 2016 You don't see a difference between complimenting a woman on her legs and telling her she is not allowed to wear pants at work? Is the workplace the correct venue to comment and people's physical attributes?
wmw999 2,588 #13 August 24, 2016 The problem comes when a woman's worth is conflated with her appearance, while a man's isn't under the same circumstances. It's adding qualifications to one gender that don't exist for the other. So you're saying that if women still let men call them "babe" at he office, ogle their breasts, and pat them appreciatively, then homosexuality wouldn't exist? Speaking as a woman, who has been discriminated against based on gender (though not knowingly based on looks -- I was a natural blonde all those years ), I call bullshit. Wendy P. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. normiss 897 #14 August 24, 2016 I'm guessing you're not familiar with working in our society, because this is not accurate in any city I've worked in. Work is simply not the place to talk about anything of a sexual nature no matter what the sex of the subject is. I'll call HR for you so you can get the annual refresher sexual harassment classes lined up. While some of it does seem silly at times, there's a culture there that is not conducive to business environments.
ryoder 1,590 #15 September 6, 2016 Greta Van Susteren abruptly leaves Fox News http://www.politico.com/media/story/2016/09/greta-van-susteren-abruptly-leaves-fox-news-004744 A source close to the situation said it was a financial disagreement that led to Van Susteren's departure, and Fox News' Howie Kurtz reported Van Susteren tried to renegotiate her contract when Ailes left. Van Susteren, who had a clause in her contract that allowed her out if Ailes left, decided to leave last week when those negotiations "deadlocked." "On Thursday night, I made my decision and informed Fox News of my decision that I was leaving Fox News Channel per my contract," Van Susteren wrote on her Facebook page Tuesday. "Fox has not felt like home to me for a few years and I took advantage of the clause in my contract which allows me to leave now. The clause had a time limitation, meaning I could not wait.""There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. billvon 3,118 #17 September 6, 2016 >And this is now all over the news today: Wow - a $20 million settlement against Ailes for the sexual harassment suit, with an apology forthcoming. Where does a guy like Ailes go after a disgrace like that? =============================== Roger Ailes Is Advising Donald Trump Ahead of Presidential Debates By MAGGIE HABERMAN and ASHLEY PARKER AUG. 16, 2016 Roger Ailes, the former Fox News chairman ousted last month over charges of sexual harassment, is advising Donald J. Trump in preparation for the all-important presidential debates this fall. Mr. Ailes is aiding the Republican nominee as Mr. Trump turns his attention to the first debate with Hillary Clinton, his Democratic opponent, on Sept. 26 at Hofstra University on Long Island, according to four people briefed on the move, who insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter. Two of them said Mr. Ailes’s role could extend beyond the debates, which Mr. Trump’s advisers see as crucial to vaulting him back into strong contention for the presidency after self-inflicted wounds that have eroded his standing in public opinion polls. ================================
