Oh, the irony: Ken Starr removed as Baylor president

Yes, that Kenneth Star.

Baylor Removes Ken Starr As President Over University's Response To Sex Assault Cases

"Baylor University has removed Ken Starr as president and suspended head football coach Art Briles amid the release of a report critical of how the school has treated allegations of sexual harassment and assault."

From the university's statement:
"We were horrified by the extent of these acts of sexual violence on our campus. This investigation revealed the University's mishandling of reports in what should have been a supportive, responsive and caring environment for students. The depth to which these acts occurred shocked and outraged us. Our students and their families deserve more, and we have committed our full attention to improving our processes, establishing accountability and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to support former, current and future students."

Starr seems to be getting off rather lightly, considering the repercussions President Clinton faced over receiving consensual fellatio.

One of the ironic twists of Clinton dallying with the intern was his attempt to use the Uniform Code of Military Justice to thwart civilian legal action.

Had he been subject to the UCMJ as the CIC, he would have been disappointed to discover that actions that result in Article 15 action for a PFC routinely have Flag Officers summarily cashiered, and would likely have resulted in a General Court Martial for him.

If, OTOH, he had admitted that she simply made good on her claim to being a virtuoso fellatrix, he would have avoided perjuring himself.

Similarly, if he had said that sure, he had tried to get Paula Jones to blow him, but, when she did not, he focused his energies on other women who did, her suit would have gone away.

Her claim was that he persecuted her for her reluctance. A defense along the lines that he was too busy with the women that were accommodating to worry about the ones who weren't would have put him in the clear.

It would not have been acceptable politically, but that's another issue.

I think the irony you both missed is that Ken Starr became a household name for so vehemently going after the investigation into infidelity -- which many have equated to sexual assault (misconduct at least), since Lewinsky was an impressionable intern and he the CIC. And yet he is sacked over the fact that the university, under his own leadership, didn't care about accusations of sexual assault nearly enough.

When I first saw this on the ticker my first thought was, "irony meter: pegged!" :D:D

That was not missed. That was the main point of the post, except that I acknowledged the consensual nature of the fellatio instead of trying to claim it was sexual assault.

I don't think Jcd missed that, I'd say he thought the nature of the irony was obvious enough that he didn't need to spell it out...

Yup.

One after another it comes out that all the people who so vehemently went after Bill Clinton, either did or have since done worse than Bill getting a BJ and lying about it.
