Ron, I heard a new phrase from a pastor today that applies pretty well to you, "Evangelical Conservative" or "Evangelical Republican" as opposed to Evangelical Christian. What he was talking about is how Christianity is no longer the guideline of a majority of those who profess both a Christian faith and a Conservative political view. Political dogma and fads have taken over as the reasoning behind their views and the problem is that even when it's blindingly apparent that the issue has nothing to do with or even counter to the intent of Christ the Evangelical Conservative will side with the political party.
