Or, he's a fuckin' liar. There is no third option. Oh now you care about liarsBTW How many times does Trump need to say he wants nothing to do with Duke? ryoder 1,590 #31 March 1, 2016 02/14/2000: MATT LAUER: When you say the Party is self-destructing, what do you see as the biggest problem with the Reform Party right now? DONALD TRUMP: Well, you've got David Duke just joined--a bigot, a racist, a problem. I mean, this is not exactly the people you want in your party. Buchanan's a disaster as we've, you know, covered. Jesse's a terrific guy who just left the Party. And he, you know, it's unfortunate, but he just left the Party. He's going to be doing his Independence Party from Minnesota. And he's a terrific guy and a terrific governor, and he's got a great future. And I've always said, Matt, that I would run if I thought I could win, and in order to win... I don't think his supporters really care what he says or thinks, just as long as he says it with a "fuck you" attitude. I have said it before: good policy, working together, long term betterment of the country, etc. are all no longer important. Defeating and preferably demeaning your opponent is all that matters. normiss 897 #33 March 1, 2016 NPR had an interesting piece yesterday by Evan Osnos of The New Yorker magazine about Trump's racist followers.
gowlerk 2,277 #34 March 1, 2016 The Donald has a history of racism as a landlord. Whatever his true beliefs, he knew exactly what he was doing on that talk show. He was sending a signal to people that he sympathizes with Duke and white supremacists, but leaving the door open for denial later. This is just along the lines of using coded talk to appeal to people when it's not acceptable to openly support them. It's used all the time in Republican politics. The Donald is showing many signs of true political genius. He is constantly fine tuning his message. He is starting to make Slick Willy look like an amateur.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
