I was at one time employed as an assessment counselor for a psych hospital. Usually, in 30 minutes I could document enough evidence to justify a provisional diagnosis for admission.

Well, is is a scary concept. But to put things in perspective it's reads to me as a story about some recommendations from some panel. There does not appear to be any immediate danger. You will have plenty of time to increase your stores in preparation.

But since the end is so near, maybe it's not worth your trouble to worry so much.

Not sure how to apply that normal to human behavior.

My point is this, if it is someone's job to assess another as needing psychiatric treatment, it is easy to do.

My job was to admit patients, voluntarily or course, to the unit. Very few that made it to my office made it back to the street without a rest in our locked unit. If a patient reacted negatively and acted out the admission became involuntary for a minimum of 72 hours.
