RonD1120 62 #1 February 27, 2016 Veterans are already experiencing some of this type of assessment at the VA. http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/health-care/item/22620-feds-seek-mental-health-testing-of-all-children-adults?AID=7236 I was at one time employed as an assessment counselor for a psych hospital. Usually, in 30 minutes I could document enough evidence to justify a provisional diagnosis for admission. gowlerk 2,299 #2 February 27, 2016 So, are you saying you are concerned that the government may be attempting to enlist the medical community, the insurance companies, and the pharmaceutical industry to remove gun rights from Americans under the guise of protecting the public? QuoteVeterans are already experiencing some of this type of assessment at the VA. Do you think mental health screening for veterans is wrong, or just dangerous? It seems like a good idea to me, given the high rates of suicide for them and the call from veterans organizations for more mental health services.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Statistical; the mean, mode and median 2. Moral 3. Concept of self Which of those three do you feel comfortable in giving the federal government the power to assess in your life. That is a moot question because you don't live in the U.S. Gun rights in only one aspect of the consequences.Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. gowlerk 2,299 #7 February 27, 2016 Well, is is a scary concept. But to put things in perspective it's reads to me as a story about some recommendations from some panel. There does not appear to be any immediate danger. You will have plenty of time to increase your stores in preparation. But since the end is so near, maybe it's not worth your trouble to worry so much.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. My point is this, if it is someone's job to assess another as needing psychiatric treatment, it is easy to do. My job was to admit patients, voluntarily or course, to the unit. Very few that made it to my office made it back to the street without a rest in our locked unit. If a patient reacted negatively and acted out the admission became involuntary for a minimum of 72 hours. Do you know how to remove a psychiatric diagnosis from your medical records?Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant.
