I thought that Kansas was non-restrictive...

You would be wrong on that Bill. There is a 1000 foot gun free zone around schools. There are a couple exemptions. But if you have a gun in your car in the trunk or your glove box or seat of your car even if unloaded. You are in violation of the law.

If you have a CCW or have it in a locked case you are fine.

Damn. So close.

The conversation turned to include other thoughts -

So I ask again -and, before you can say that this tread isn't about car seats - I don't accept that non answer.

Should they be allowed to prohibit you from having a child's protective car seat in your car on their property?

Should they be able to prohibit you from having an extra cell phone in your car?

What about an old jelly roll?

Can they prohibit dust?

Since Mark declines to answer the questions - I put it to all of you?

Like I said I don't think they should. But they have that opportunity In till a court decides other wise. They own the property.

I don't think any owner would enforce a no dust rule. A no weapon rule, while I would dissagree with , I can see the logic in it. The majority of gun owners are good people law abiding and welcome at my house anytime. There are others that I don't want to be around them when they have a gun.

I still back the second amendment all the way.

I will carry my concealed weapon wherever I choose - It's sort of the benefit of carrying a concealed weapon. If I have to use it to protect my life, then I don't really care what your laws are, whether public or private.

(edit: I think "no Gun zones" in general are really stupid. Though I'd have to support a property owner's decision to have it in place and would respect it on their property. I'd still think he's making a stupid choice.)

If I ran a business and didn't want guns inside, I surely wouldn't want guns in cars on my parking lot. But I would have a safe where gun carriers could deposit their guns during work time.

To me a gun in a car is a big no-no. Cars get broken in too easily. Guns must not be stolen.

About 300,000 guns are stolen every year in the USA from law abiding citizens who are willing to report the theft. After cash and jewelry, guns are criminals' favorite target.

I do not carry if I might be drinking, but my reason for that has nothing to do with their laws or rules.

I didn't think Mark was Christian.

Like Christians.

Perhaps a legalistic one like an old school baptist, catholic, mormon, JW, 7th day adventist, church of Christ goer. Tho I have to admit that if there wasn't a law against coveting, I probably wouldn't know that I was doing something wrong - like I would if I were having anal sex with another man, for example.

It's only a sin if you enjoy it! But seriously, is it okay for you to partake in sodomy if it's with a woman? There's a law against that you know. Somewhere in some religion. It seems to me sodomy is forbidden, and who it's with is not mentioned much. Remember that when the humming starts.
Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

***actually, it's quite the opposite.

He is unable to understand this

Bull shit. But we hear so much about law abiding gun owners that it is quite refreshing to see one say he doesn't give a fuck about the law and will do as he pleases.

Of course if he ever gets caught breaking the law he will be the first to whine about how he is such a fine upstanding citizen.
