But I get your point. Poor people are just lazy. People who can't be bothered to learn how to get a 5th grade grasp on English are victims of circumstance and should be helped.

Whole Language was great for some kids. Just as rote memorization is great for some kids.

Very few things work for all kids. And those which do are nowhere near complete enough to cover school.
