Who did Jesus fail to heal that came to him? I'm curious. There were a couple that Paul did (had to google that), but Paul isnt Jesus, and Paul could be something of a jerk. Not trying to trap, just curious.

He didn't heal people who didn't come to Him, but that's different.

I was thinking of Mt 15:21-28, Jesus first said no and then had to be persuaded.

But he was persuaded. I thought that was part of the point of that passage. Likewise about how the Samaritan is a good man, regardless of his tribe/group/nationality/association/whatever

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Yeah, not a good example. I've got to learn to stop reacting to kallend's asinine comparisons of me to Jesus.

You are not remotely like Jesus. You are more like the two "pious" men on the road to Jericho who shunned the distressed stranger before the Samaritan arrived on the scene. It's hard to find a better metaphor for your attitude.

Then you should have thought of that one first. I understand though, it is a factor of the aging process.

So sorry I didn't put the in the first one. I thought it was self evident, but apparently not.

>Who did Jesus fail to heal that came to him?

It says quite clearly in the Bible that Jesus had no use for the poor, or the homeless, or the downtrodden, or the Musselmen. He'd turn all sorts of people away unless they were approved by the Pharisees.

At least I'm pretty sure someone's Bible says that.

I think that's covered here.

Interesting, as you are getting ready to celebrate the birth of a baby of middle-eastern refugee parents looking for shelter and protection in their time of need.

Jesus must be so proud of you Ron.

Refugees?

Ummmm, no.

Kin to the king, although distant, yes.

He is and He confirmed it yesterday in all three services. Oh, and again this morning.

BTW, His correct title is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Would you like to meet Him?

So Mary and Joseph didn't flee to Egypt with the baby? You'll have to take that up with Matthew.

Even outside of that, story is pretty similar. Lot's of "Christians" more than willing to turn their backs now.

You offering to kill me Ron?

Oh heavens no. I was referring to the confession of sin and asking Him to come into your heart and take control of your life.

Americans please note. Once they are settled here they will have a clear path to Canadian citizenship and a passport. Canadian passport holders pretty much come and go as they please from your country. Watch your backs.

I know... all those damn canuks coming down here, being polite and apologizing. Annoying as hell.

A less humorous note, the only things keeping the Canadian border from being as porous as the mexican border is the weather and terrain.

Since just last week you told me I needed to study the Bible more, I'd give this a "Irony meter pegged" score.

Do you think that maybe the similarities of economies, prosperity and standards of living have a lot to do with it?

The border is actually pretty porous, especially west of the Great Lakes (all that water is pretty effective). We just don't have 12 million illegal Canadians because they don't need to come here to make more than one dollar per hour.
