aphid 0 #227 December 7, 2015 wolfriverjoe We just don't have 12 million illegal Canadians because they don't need to come here to make more than one dollar per hour. As shocking as it might seem, it's not always about the money. I can assure you that within our reasons for not emigrating, the comparison of our respective wages is typically the least among them. Most of us are pretty darned happy with being and remaining Canadian. With modestly different values. We do like coming for a visit though. And jumping at your DZ's. Vive la différence. I now understand that if someone comes to your door as Christ, he is likely the anti-Christ. It's a nice little insular box this belief system traps people like you into. rhaig 0 #237 December 8, 2015 wolfriverjoe Do you think that maybe the similarities of economies, prosperity and standards of living have a lot to do with it? No. Those factors will affect the amount of traffic across each border, but not the porosity of it. Quote The border is actually pretty porous, especially west of the Great Lakes (all that water is pretty effective). gowlerk 2,274 #249 December 22, 2015 How can you judge it's bias without reading it? You are assuming a bias based on your feelings about NPR. NPR is currently the finest broadcast news service in America by far. It often tells painful truths about many issues from many perspectives. If it is biased, it is tilted firmly toward the middle. The story is not about comparing Canada to the US. Although that could be seen as a subtext. It's about showing how people in another country are dealing with the issue. The only reason you see bias is because it shows a different way than you would. In other words, everyone is biased, your bias is showing.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
