There is some good looking papers there. Using the references in the 1st paper (Hoffert, M.I., Flannery, B. P., Callegari, A. J., Hseih, C. T., and Wiscombe, W., 1983. Evaporation - limited tropical temperatures as a constraint on climate sensitivity. Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences 40, No. 7, 1659 - 1668) has led me what looks to be one of the first attempts to model the earth-atmosphere system, here:

This is the kind of paper I like to read, especially wrto global warming. It has some serious meat to it.
