Kadde 0 #126 September 21, 2015 cvfd1399You can pack plenty of explosives in that case. You can do that in a book aswell, or a lunchbox. If they really thought he made a bomb, why let everyone stay in the building. Why let an english teacher look at it before someone who might know what they were looking at or just someone who knows... something. It doesnt take long to exclude the fact that the clock was not a bomb.

Gee ya think????? I am not quite sure how to dumb down my answers any further for the "challenged" among us. Do you know how to we a server without using a cloth? champu 1 #128 September 21, 2015 turtlespeedI'd really like to know why someone wouldn't automatically see all three of the pictured items as non threatening, and welcome, nay, encourage thier arrival at every school for show and tell. That's not a suitcase bomb. I would debunk it myself but thanks to the internet I can be lazy and just provide a link. Turns out it's a tradeshow/demo case made by Honeywell to show off products. A bomb isn't going to have that many electronic components in it. You don't actually need any electronics. As far as electronics go, a bomb is going to be have either a small project breadboard with a few DIP components, a small commercial micro controller board like a PIC, HC11, or an Arduino (if they want to get really fancy), or cell phone (See my linked post in post #24, that was a roadside IED) Here are two actual, actual suitcase bombs: http://i.imgur.com/LjV3TGs.png https://ellisonblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/suitcasebomb.jpg

cvfd1399 0 #135 September 21, 2015 Well in my area the schools mandate mesh fabric or clear plastic backpacks since 9/11. But yea you could fit enough to level a good chunk of a school with a backpack full of some high order stuff.

jakee 1,564 #138 September 21, 2015 Bolas ***>Was the response over the top? Maybe. But what if it HAD been a bomb and >some kid had just blown up a school after showing the device around and >nobody said anything - the outcry would be a hundred times worse than it is >now. Ironically, if he had used a gun instead of a bomb, the outcry would immediately be "the gun had NOTHING to do with it! Why go after law abiding people for the actions of a terrorist? Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Focus on the problem, not the device." But since there are no big well-funded digital clock lobbies . . . . . Anvilbrother 0 #149 September 22, 2015 I am pretty sure having a clear book sack has stopped at least one kid from going you know what I am going to bring a gun to school today to intimidate someone or show off to my friends. Even if the intent was not to harm at least it kept a ND from possibly happening, and I am sure you cant disagree that is a good thing. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone.
