normiss 897 #51 March 5, 2015 Wow. The longer the police refuse to see the problem and how much they are an active part of that problem, the longer this will be a problem as well as the risk or likelihood of it escalating.

skycop 0 #53 March 5, 2015 People can twist stats to meet their agenda, if there were problems then I hope they are corrected. Some DOJ interventions have been successful, others just added another bureaucratic layer to an already difficult job. We'll see Every organization can improve, you've missed my entire point. ryoder 1,590 #54 March 5, 2015 Just...maybe...the long pattern of screwing over the black population in Ferguson had brought the populace to the boiling point, and the Brown shooting was just the trigger. AFAIK, the Brown shooting was justified. But after being used as cash cows to fund the city gov't, I can see why the black people were fed up. IOW the Feds found the Brown shooting was justified, AND they found a pattern of abuse of the black population in Ferguson, AND just...maybe...they are right on both counts."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. skycop 0 #55 March 5, 2015 I'm sure there was an underlying current, there usually is in every community. Learning how to channel it and use it to your advantage is always best for the entire community. I said before, some DOJ interventions have had great success, hopefully this one will. I've also said that Darren Wilson used poor tactics, those tactics may have made a bad situation worse. Good organizations are introspective and strive to improve, some need to be pushed, maybe that's the case here. Only time will tell. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" Again, it's simply the politics of police work, it goes with putting on the funny outfit. When a small army of politically appointed lawyers come to town, political agendas can result............ Lol, the second paragraph starts with "Holder's race-baiting civil rights crew...." and you are using that to prove bias. Ironic. Let me see if I can find an article with some sentence regarding "donut eating pigs" to prove there is a problem with police officers. I am sure that would convince you real quick. skycop 0 #60 March 9, 2015 Simply an opinion piece, Race is the third rail of American politics, anyone who throws the BS flag is immediately branded a racist or ill-informed. If there were unprofessional or racist e-mails, then those people deserve discipline. The traffic stop stats are subject to interpretation. Andy, At least people like donuts......... Right, except that by using language like that, you are indicating the opinion you are about to put forth, is likely more based on preconception than evidence.
