A good article on climate modeling

Recommended Posts

The writer did made some interesting points. Accuracy versus precision are pretty important concepts. I suppose my issue is how one even prognosticators with accuracy or precision. These are terms for empirical measurement.

As we know, empirical measurement is not one of those things necessary for climate modeling when the whole enterprise is based upon statistical suppositions.

I don't blame climate modelers for not giving a rat's ass about empirical measurement. It's not a useful tool to them. Though, yes, I agree that calling them "scientists" is a bit of a misnomer. They are modelers. Technicians that use information gleaned from and based on science. Perhaps engineers would be a better term.

I do not like the headline however

Study shows huge basic errors found in CMIP5 climate models

It is getting easier to see why the alarmists pushed so hard to make changes fast. Cause it all seems to fall apart the more the claims get looked at

A new paper published in Geophysical Research Letters finds astonishingly large errors in the most widely used ‘state of the art’ climate models due to incorrect calculation of solar radiation and the solar zenith angle at the top of the atmosphere.
