Obama hates America

We are trying to preach the gospel to as many as possible and get as many as possible into the Kingdom of God.

So Christians are responsible for the amount of souls that make it into heaven? Yet God decides presidential elections?

That's interesting.

>Not much daylight between you and ISIS, is there?

They are completely different. Ron is preparing for the battles as the world ends based on the Bible, and ISIS is preparing for the battles as the world ends based on the Koran.

Billy your smarter then that or your not paying attention ISIS is trying to bring about the end of the world as it pertains to the Koran. Big difference.

The poll does not indicate whether they are Christian In Name Only or Born Again Christian.

Jesus clearly stated to Nicodemus that you must be born again in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. The only one who can identify being born again is the individual. No one can look at another and say for certain they are born again.

But, God knows your heart. It is in your heart that you believe and with your mouth you confess Jesus is Lord.

I think the posters here in SC are a good cross section of our population. What do you think is the ratio of Born Again Christian to hardcore heathen is here?

I think that's for God to decide, not anyone else. Our job is to treat everyone as though they were created by God.

As far as dz.com or SC being a good cross-section of "our" population (given that it's an international forum, I'm assuming you still mean Americans, or maybe "people like us"), no, I don't think it is. It's a cross-section of people with skydiving connections who spend too much time on the net. More urban than rural, a larger percentage of people with employment than the population at large. Probably higher-educated than the population at large, as well.

So, to you, someone who believes in God and follows the teaching of Jesus but isn't born again is a hardcore heathen?

Seems so, doesn't it.

That "Born Again" thing is the part that matters.

But actually following the teachings of that Jesus guy?

Not necessary at all.

That all depends on the individual's definition of "born again". Since it is undefined (and quite possibly mis-translated over the millennia), the whole concept is rather silly.

Except to those of us for whom the experience has become real.

It requires taking a step of faith into the unknown future.

I have read your posts for about six years now. They follow a pattern of looking backward. For you it appears that every decision must be based on evidence previously established. They only time you deviate from this pattern is when you grab a headline that you know to be insulting to Christians and/or right wing conservatives.

Quite possibly an accurate assessment, which is to say this is also a decidedly sad indictment of the state of education.

Naah.

A lot of people on here are clearly well educated.

That doesn't necessarily make them smart.

Or mature.
And I think lack of maturity drives more of the idiocy on here than anything else.

The switch is either on or off. When you are born again you receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as a guide. You make mistakes, that is you deviate from the teachings of Jesus, but you are still on the path. Your name is still written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

When you pass from this existence and stand in judgment before Jesus Christ. The only pass into eternal life is that you accepted Him, His deity, His atoning death and Resurrection. With that acceptance you surrender yourself and ask Jesus to come into your heart and become your Lord and master.

Without making that decision you are a sinner, separated from God and lost.

The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. To that end we must be saved and we seek to be sanctified. Sanctification takes a lifetime because no one gets it all from the get go. It takes exercising your will in a righteous manner.

You can get into the Kingdom of God without being sanctified but you cannot enter without being saved.

I thought we had already established that concept. You are born a sinner, hardcore heathen. You have to choose to be born again.

Can you imagine BHO making this speech?

Do you know who said the following? I wonder if Giuliani thinks the speakers hate America.

1. “Ours is a war not against a religion, not against the Muslim faith. But ours is a war against individuals who absolutely hate what America stands for.”

2. “They’re terrorists. And we are not at war with Islam. We are at war with people who have perverted Islam.”

3. “Our war is not against Islam, or against faith practiced by the Muslim people. Our war is a war against evil.”

4. “Our enemy doesn’t follow the great traditions of Islam. They’ve hijacked a great religion.”

5. “Given the…nature of the enemy — which is not a traditional army — this work takes time, and will require vigilance and resilience.”

6. “The terrorists do not speak for over a billion Muslims who reject their hateful ideology.”

7. “The terrorists are traitors to their own faith, trying, in effect, to hijack Islam itself.”

8. “How do we, as people of faith, reconcile these realities — the profound good…the compassion and love that can flow from all of our faiths, operating alongside those who seek to hijack religious for their own murderous ends?”

9. “There are thousands of Muslims who proudly call themselves Americans, and they know what I know — that the Muslim faith is based upon peace and love and compassion.”

10. “This great religion in the hands of a few extremists has been distorted to justify violence.”

Not when you really think about it.

if you are born a sinner, that would mean that you have an imperfect soul.

How did God make something imperfect?

***Everyone knows that the only true way to show that you love your country is to send in US troops to fight and die in an unnecessary war.

So you are saying that Barack is just as loving of this country as George was?

At the 2008 Republican convention, one speaker went so far as to state that Obama had a great, uniquely American life story. Of McCain and Obama, this speaker said, "they're both good and patriotic men with very different life experiences that have led them to this moment of shared history." Speaking of Obama he said "His rise is remarkable in its own right. It's the kind of thing that can happen only in America."

The speaker was Rudy Giuliani

What, you are expecting a politician to keep a consistent viewpoint?

Please. He's going to say whatever he thinks the audience he is speaking to at that particular moment wants to hear.

And the audience he is speaking to right now is the one that will vote in the Repub primaries.

Which is going to be the absolute worst of the ODS crowd.

Ok, hang on a minute, so what? I think it's perfectly fair that after one and a half terms of Obama's presidency that Giuliani, or indeed anyone, can change their mind about him from what they thought before he ever sat in the Oval office. You might disagree with what his new opinion is, but it's not hypocritical of him to have thought differently before.

(In fact, I think it's one of the worst aspects of modern politics that no-one is allowed to change their mind. Why on earth do we demand that politicians be immune to new information? Isn't that the least admirable trait in a chief decision maker?)
