jclalor 12 #1 February 10, 2015 Half of the state implements gay marriage following an order from a federal judge. The other half refusing to do so, listening instead to the state's Chief Justice. This is the same guy behind the 10 commandments monument controversy in the state. When it's a Christian who puts his God before his country... Got bless him. Sooner or later, The Chief Justice of Alabama, along with his ilk, will be tossed upon the trash heap of history. http://news.yahoo.com/ala-chief-justice-tells-judges-refuse-gay-marriage-092037117.html;_ylt=A0SO8wnFXtlU3b4AD4TBGOd_

rehmwa 2 #6 February 10, 2015 D22369I will never understand Why anyone cares what any adults do yep - extremists on both sides want to control stuff they have no business sticking their nose into you want to get married? get married, and I don't care who to you don't? don't get married, and I don't care who to I won't 'celebrate' it, I won't oppose it (gay, hetero, whatever). I really don't care unless you are a friend. what we need to do is take away all political benefits and penalties that accrue to this random social structure called 'marriage' and start treating people as the individuals they are such that singles (of all philosophies) aren't being given unequal treatment under the law ... BillyVance 35 #8 February 10, 2015 Believe me, there's a good reason my brother moved as far away from Alabama as he could (Kauai) . He couldn't stand the state of politics here. Look, Alabama has been mostly a conservative republican state except for the bigger cities. The Repubs and Dems spar on the most stupid shit and good bills die as a result. I'm not too concerned with it as it doesn't apply to me. On one hand, I have a good friend who's a lesbian who was in a 10 year relationship that ended last year. They raised a little girl who was my friend's baby. I'm sure she wished gays and lesbians had been allowed to marry 10 years ago and that alimony laws applied in her case. Her other half refuses to help pay for the girl's care. I feel bad for her but it is what it is. theplummeter 15 #9 February 10, 2015 The term gay marriage needs to go away and be replaced with same sex marriage. Homosexuals can get married in every state in the US. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-YCdcnf_P8

Here is the ballot text: Quote Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to prohibit the State of Alabama from giving full faith and credit to public acts, records, or judicial proceedings of another state that violate the public policy of the State of Alabama and to prohibit the application of foreign law in violation of rights guaranteed natural citizens by the United States and Alabama Constitutions, and the statutes, laws, and public policy thereof, but without application to business entities.
