Well, Afghanistan in the 90s (from the Sov pullout until the US invaded in late 01) was pretty much constant fighting. Mostly tribal factions and Pashtun against... everyone else (Persian groups mostly). And Iraq post-invasion was constant Sunni-Shia fighting. Some of it overt, more of it standard "terrorism" or gang/organized crime style stuff. You know, pick out someone from the other side, maybe for a reason, maybe not.
