Unfortunately I do! And that's the biggest part of the problem. They're not neutral, they're led by the left and they're going to die by being left.

Are you not aware that the right presently controls all three branches of the federal government? It's very difficult to reconcile your belief that the government are led by the left with reality, impossible even.

Are you aware that this all happened during the Obama Administration? It also happened at a state level where the Democrats control everything that's going on out there? Nice try to try and redirect but you're way off base!

No, in my case I mean actual Affirmative Action. I know about White Privilege and I figure I've gotten my share of it but not this time. Growing up we never had a phone until about 1972. Then it was decided that we needed one for awhile. Now, back then long distance was expensive and we just didn't use it. Period. But one day I saw a big sign on this building with an 800 number claiming that calling that number was absolutely free. It got me interested in the whole "free long distance thing" so when I got home I called it. The really nice lady assured me that yes, she was all the way in Pittsburgh but the call was free. I thanked her but as I was hanging up she said "don't you want to put in an application, as long as you're here anyway?"
I knew this was a serious waste of time, I had no chance of getting a decent job but I gave her my info. A short time later I got a letter asking me to come to the Lafayette hotel for a test. I'd never even been in the Lafayette before, it was way above our status. But there I was, being tested by a black man for a woman's job. There were about two dozen of us but, as the very nice black man assured me, as the only male applying if I passed the test I got the job. And I did and I did.
Working for Bell Telephone was an incredible break. I now had a better job than anyone I even knew, plus I was now the only male operator in Southeast Ohio and second in all of Ohio. The weight of that hadn't occurred to me all that much until one of the janitors was telling me how I'd probably get a write up in the paper.
After two years there the writing was on the wall and I took a job at GTE in Athens.I'd always wanted to live in Athens but more importantly all phone companies were consolidating so within a year the Marietta operators were moved to Columbus but Athens was where GTE was moving everyone to so I got seniority quickly then an outside job.
Then through an almost, but not quite, as odd a set of circumstances I ended up managing OU's Art School's photo labs then computer labs.

It's been a long strange trip, and started off because of Affirmative Action.

That’s really cool. That you had the opportunity, too. It’d be good if everyone recognized the opportunities when they saw them. But it’s kind of like the links in the fatality chain; sometimes they’re little, and you only see them in retrospect.

That's not really his belief. A common belief of Trumpies is that they are victims of the evil left wing - not really that the government is led by the left.

You have to understand the level of disillusionment that Trump supporters find themselves at lately. Even the GOP is abandoning Trump; it's getting harder and harder to find republicans who will give Trump (and his supporters) the blind support that Trump wants. Even most of his own supporters don't believe his absurd tweets and conspiracy theories any more.

So many of them give up, which is why Trump's support has dropped to historic lows. But some of them can't - they have invested so much of themselves in Trump as a symbol that deciding that he is not all that great would shatter a large part of their worldview. So instead, rather than decide they made a mistake supporting this guy, they go for the old standby - they play the victim.

The only problem is you have to be a victim _of_ somebody. When the other party is in power it's easy; you find something to blame them for. (Witness all the right wingers who have never run a company in their life suddenly announcing they had to "shut down their small business because of Obamacare." Instant victim, and a ready justification for faux outrage.)

It's a little harder now, but the right wing media still supplies an oppressor - the left. The worse Trump does, the more FOX et al supplies stories about evil Hillary Clinton, oppressive George Soros and criminal Barack Hussein Obama. Heck, they've even started labeling Mueller and Comey (both Republicans while in their jobs) as liberals. Because they have to be, to fit into the victimhood story.

Expect a lot more of this as Trump supporters look for ways to blame others for Trump's actions.
