Kudos to FOX

In a rare show of conscience, FOX has apologized for their anti-Islamic claims. Good for them, and let's hope this is the beginning of a change in the FOX News team from political tool to news reporting organization.

Fox Formally Apologizes for Claiming Muslims Have Taken Over European Cities
by Tina Nguyen
12:04 am, January 18th, 2015 Videos 2665

This evening, Fox News formally apologized for a false claim about Muslims that was so egregious, even the Prime Minister of Great Britain and all of French television had to step in and call them out for it.

“Over the course of this last week we have made some regrettable errors on air regarding the Muslim population in Europe – particularly with regard to England and France,” anchor Julie Banderas said during tonight’s newscast. “This applies especially to discussions of so-called ‘No Go Zones’ areas where non-Muslims allegedly aren’t allowed in and police supposedly won’t go.”

To recap: once upon a time last week, Fox’s terrorism commentator Steve Emerson claimed that there were certain neighborhoods and towns completely overrun with a Muslim population so fierce that even police wouldn’t enter them: according to him, there are “actually Muslim religious police that actually beat and actually wound seriously anyone who doesn’t dress according to religious Muslim attire.”

I think Fox has now figured out just how far they can go with facts before being called on it

Regardless of whether it was intended that way, it's the new metric

All CNN and FOX are doing is bending over to the politcal correctness police

This is about the PC crowd freaking out and people bowing to their bull shit
Period

The American cable television channel Fox News has also issued at least four apologies for referring to Muslim no-go zones in Europe, after one commentator erroneously claimed that the entire city of Birmingham, England, was Muslim. Had he simply said that "parts" of Birmingham are Muslim, he would have been correct.

Despite such politically correct denials, Muslim no-go zones are a well-known fact of life in many parts of Europe.

If political correctness means reality... Yeah! Rush, you've already admitted that you don't have the first fucking clue about anything that is happening in Europe and that you have no way of finding out, so unless you actually come and visit Paris or Birmingham and see for yourself how much utter, unadulterated bullshit the Fox remarks were I would suggest you keep quiet.

But that's what you said! You said you didn't know anything and that thee was no way that you could find out because there are no reliable news sources.

Now I guess you meant there are no reliable news sources except Breitbart, which really speaks for itself, huh?

Which is about as honest as they get
Did FOX screw up?
Sure
The person said the whole town
Which was incorrect
But saying there are no such places is incorrect to according to many sites and organizations
So flame down my friend
All I did was put the topic in the proper perspective but that does not work for Fox bashers
You still need to get over yourself

Before this was their expert steve emerson ever suspected of not being truthful, or had a history of not getting a situation right? If not I don't see how taking him at his word to be a fault for FOX. Once they found out they corrected and apologized.

If CNN had a financial guy that was a respectable straight shooter, but spoke past his knowledge and got something horribly wrong I would not blame the entirety of CNN's credibility on a correspondent. Especially if they came back and changed it.

He was their on staff terrorism expert, unless he was known as a nut in the past I wouldn't see anyone checking the story of your top guy all the time beforehand.

"Which is about as honest as it gets"?

You make that claim after you quote the fucking Gatestone institute? You really need to do some very minor due diligence before you post.

But it was good laugh none the less.;)

Funny standard. A guy who admits to a goal of "depriving [the media] of information" is about as honest as they get. By your standard, Bill Clinton must be the most honest guy on the planet. After all, all he wanted to do was deprive some lawyers of information.

The whole city. A city of 1M people within the boundary of Birmingham itself, well over 2M in the metropolitan area. All Muslims. It's so absurd it doesn't even make sense as intentional misinformation.

And as for your other sites, they all distort and twist the criteria. They say there are places 'the police won't go' and support it with a link that says there are places where some crimes aren't reported to the police. Totally different thing. The sites say there are places where sharia law has taken over and support it with a few random instances of Muslims shouting at non-Muslims. There's no pattern demonstrated. There's no attempt to show the continuous presence if these people. Just throw out a few instances of street crime and let the reader's paranoia do the rest. If it were true then every council estate in the UK would be 'controlled' by some criminal element, be it white, black or Muslim.

Your 'proper perspective' is just the desire to defend any conservative against any liberal, no matter what.

Even if he said something utterly crazy?

Fox don't employ Emerson because he's a straight shooter, they employ him because he's rabidly anti Islamic terror organisations (before it became fashionable, to his credit) and it fits their narrative perfectly. But when you give a platform to someone who sees ghosts in every shadow it is partly your responsibility when he starts talking about them.

Your assurtion must have came from this?

"We deprived them of information," Breitbart explained, "so that they couldn't come up with a vile, kill-the-messenger attack with the media doing the groundwork for them."
