BillyVance 35 #26 November 22, 2014 jimmytavino hmmm Ok well maybe the term "cesspool " is a bit over dramatic, but the facts are..... the city is Old. the infrastructure is failing. The people tend to cluster into groups based on cultural similarities or countries of origin, from low economic levels to High society Big shots... My words may have come across as pointing out stereotypes... and so for that....I'm sorry... .. as for City folks thinking they have an idea about "Upstaters "... Unless they Have been there... they'd only be Guessing,, and 8 times outta 10 the guess would be Wrong......As for "could never make it in the Big Apple ".. that just might be a GOOD thing.... how about..?? " I Don't WANT to make it there.... I have already made it Here,,, " and here is better.... Yeah. I'd choose Rochester over NYC any day too. Andy9o8 2 #28 November 23, 2014 I'd think it's probably predictable that someone from Alabama would prefer living in Rochester than NYC. It simply is what it is.
BillyVance 35 #29 November 23, 2014 Andy9o8I'd think it's probably predictable that someone from Alabama would prefer living in Rochester than NYC. It simply is what it is. Because I actually did live in Rochester for 4 years. Edited to add: I also have relatives near Syracuse and Newburgh that I visit every now and then."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
Andy9o8 2 #30 November 23, 2014 Yes, I knew you went to NTID, that's why I answered as I did. My post stands. Eta, I grew up in upstate New York, I've lived in New York City as well as several other cities and I've travelled and visited extensively throughout the south, including Alabama.so I'm not just guessing, either.
