lawrocket 3 #2 October 6, 2014 I don't see why the SCOTUS would take it now. I'd think that the SCOTUS is pretty smart to just leave it because it's highly political and I don't think there is any split on the appeals Circuits. I'm not seeing any State high courts that are declining to allow gay marriages while others are allowing it. I'm not seeing important federal questions that aren't being answered the same way throughout. All these courts are deciding the same thing the same way. This is about the most positive sign I can see from the SCOTUS: telling those against gay marriage to give up. It's over. We don't need the SCOTUS to affirm what all the courts are doing, anyway. My wife is hotter than your wife.

Interesting way of looking at it. I saw it as a missed opportunity for the SC to put this issue to bed...but this is a much smarter way really.

kelpdiver 2 #9 October 6, 2014 kallend Context in several prior threads on this topic. Please pay attention. prior threads don't count, for anyone that engages in this behavior. The SC ducking out will keep a lot of lawyers busy on the subject for a few more years. Not sure what the upside is to requiring another 20 states to go through the process. cvfd1399 0 #13 October 7, 2014 Who gives a shit! Only 3.5% of the population in the U.S is gay, but it eats up how much useless presidential debates, court, and tv time?!!!! Pass the shit and lets move on to more important things we need to be fixing in this country! QuoteDrawing on information from four recent national and two state-level population-based surveys, the analyses suggest that there are more than 8 million adults in the US who are lesbian, gay, or bisexual, comprising 3.5% of the adult population. On the next presidential election put it on the ballot, let the people vote and move the fuck on. Same thing for abortions.

cvfd1399 0 #23 October 7, 2014 Did you actually fucking do any work and google it for yourself?? Try it you will find my numbers are not Quotebullshit percentage as you say. My point was not to talk about percentage of gay Americans. The fucking point was its not 50% so its not a huge issue for the United Stated government to be wasting all this god damn political and media time over. I'm fine with gay people, gay marriage, gay equal rights. Lets vote on it, state by state, or on a federal level BY THE PEOPLE, and quit letting these bullshit politicians and judges make all the rules. Once its done and voted on move the fuck on to the economy, or foreign relations, health care etc.

What could possibly go wrong with this approach?! The reason this drags on is because of the Mormons and the other anti-marriage Christian nuts.
