I think that most Democrats have been disappointed when it comes to 44's foreign policy and domestic surveillance. That being said, the left is disappointed only because 44 has swung too far to the right to appease the unappeasable.

1,710 for Obama, 630 for Bush in Afghanistan.
73% died under Obama.

Iraq actual conflict/battle was essentially over when Obama took over, so Bush clearly won that one.

Also of note.. are the suicides of those who served that can't deal.. get no help... and are the used and thrown away weapons of war.

My generation had many thousands who died in the Nam.. and did not realize it for years afterward.
