Personally I think the fact is they are all severe tax cheats should lead to a change in the tax structure. REMOVE tax exempt status from churches that are not really charitable organizations but profit schemes of a few individuals who excel at fleecing their flock of BILLIONS of dollars and are VERY profitable businesses. Average local income - about $28k. He was hired at almost $60k. Plus the parish and all expenses. "Love" offerings by the church members. Pantry party (give the family as much food stocked in the house as possible). The "love" gifts seemed to be a regular thing too. A LOT of churches have problems with wealth IMO. Tax them. I place them in a class by themselves. Each one is an individual and may or may not have a specific church following. For example, Jimmy Swaggert is ordained through the Assemblies of God but his evangelistic ministry is incorporated under his name. Likewise, Jim Bakker and Benny Hinn were licensed by the AoG but had their credentials revoked, IIRC. Robert Tilton, I think was just an offshoot from Kenneth Copeland.
