Vendor shoots woman at Pennsylvania gun show

I'm betting he had his weapon out during the chase, and went to re-holster, and shot himself in the leg and was too embarrassed to tell anyone so he said it went off in the holster.

little doubt it was a variation of this. Guns don't fire themselves. At this point, any model for sale in California gets drop tested (at considerable expense to us) in multiple ways.

At some point, he had his finger on the trigger.

Exactly. In my last shooting class we had people with $1,500 1911's, glocks, all the way down to $200 pawnshop guns. The instructor verified each model was drop safe, then had us all run a drill with fully loaded weapons where he yelled "police drop your weapon". At that time everyone dropped their guns from eye level on the ground to prove to us that it's safe to do so, and it's much safer than putting the weapon slowly on the ground and risk getting shot by a cop that thinks you are about to spin around on him.

Has anyone considered he was paid to do that?

Maybe her man decided she needed to be shot?

Every time I read about someone pointing a gun they presumed to be unloaded at a friend and pulling the trigger, I wonder if they did exactly what they intended to do.

Ain't that the truth:(

Every fibre of my being just does not compute how FUCKING stupid it is to accidentally shoot someone.
Even the act of pointing a gun at someone unless I intend to kill them in their tracks is just not something I am ever willing to do. That was a very basic lesson that the grandfather cuffed me a couple times because I messed up with muzzle control... and that was the very simple lesson.
Only point a weapon at another human being if they have decided they want to die.

Good post
Much the same happened to me but add one embarasing exception.
I had a range officer in an indoor range chew my ass about 15 years ago when I brain farte and lost sight of my muzzel direction
Chewed my ass out in front of all there
I had it coming
I never forgot again (to date)

This just goes to show that how ever good training is, mistakes get made and will be made.

Unfortunately mistakes with tools like guns can be severe.

It is what it is. You play the game, you pay the price.

Do you have a point?

Here's the 2nd Ebenezer Church of Detroit on 6 mile translation:
"No matter how good a brotha got it, stakes finna be made..."

and to that, I say Amen!
