BIGUN 1,489 #1 June 18, 2014 Well if you've been following the news, you know there are thousands of Honduran Children illegally entering the US to escape the current gang warfare. So far, the administration's position has been one of exporting them back to and re-uniting them with their families. This is not a US problem. This is a Catholic Church problem. Even when I was down there in 85-86... it didn't take a mathematician to watch as the Priests walked around El Centro in the evenings encouraging families with 3-5 children to have more. The country was decimated at that time by war, poverty, disease (i.e., Polio was rampant), the economy, etc. It was just a matter of time. So, Ship them to the Vatican. Let the Pope see what the continuous mantra of making more babies does in a country with dwindling resources. Or, better yet, Dig out some of that more than Ft. Knox gold and treasures you have buried beneath the Vatican and send help. Maybe not. Such beautiful children from a Latino culture and these are their early childhood memories. Back then was my second disenchantment and withdrawal from the church, I recently tried going back.
