Hate to be the one to tell you. Some people aren't so smart. Several dead people have won elections before on name.

I can think of a lot of good reasons to elect dead people:
- Not influenced by lobbyists.
- Don't propose dumb legislation.
- Don't vote for dumb legislation.
- Don't put unrelated earmarks on bills.
- Don't funnel pork to their district.

Personally I think we'd be better off with the Dead running things. Well, maybe with Jerry Garcia as "honorary president", since he's really dead. Things would be a lot more mellow in Congress.
