For now this seems ok, but what about when the next guy on the otherside goes around Congress and gets done what HE wants. What if it's something you really hate? Checks and balances work both ways. billvon 3,121 #10 June 2, 2014 >Checks and balances work both ways. I don't believe we want to get ride of it. Agreed. And in this case, Congress voted to pass the Clean Air Act and the US Supreme Court verified that it applies to CO2. All three branches worked together to get this passed. Now, if Congress has changed its mind they are free to pass a new law changing how the Clean Air Act works.

No Adult Taxpayers are the ones who usually get to spend the big bucks to clean up all those superfund sites that the corporations made with their "we only drive profits from doing business and not clean up expenses " mentality. Extractive entities have usually been exceedingly profitable... and yet left behind exceedingly polluted sites in their wake when the people behind that corporation cut and run. They are far too busy repealing Obamacare for the 71st time. In the meantime, states are trying to pre-empt this law by passing their own limits on CO2 emissions.
