kelpdiver 2 #2 May 28, 2014 Iago If Tiger can go anywhere in the world for lasik, and he went to this guy, that must mean something. It would mean more if Tiger were a eye surgeon as well. But as a college dropout, it's less reliable. Barry Bonds used a surgeon with a questionable history and ended up having 3 surgeries in 3 months on a knee. Had he used the general Giants doctor (who operated twice on me), perhaps it would have gone better, rather than pick a guy who has his license revoked? But clearly he's a man with the money and means to go to whoever he wanted.

Does the location determine the skills of the surgeon? Do his patients fare less if he operates in Los Angles.I never realized the success of surgery was determined by what city it was performed in. Nice to know if I ever need a knee, or if I ever want to be gunned down in the street. Well, since you mention it, Cleveland has a higher homicide rate than Chicago. As do Miami, Memphis, St. Louis, Kansas City, Birmingham, Orlando, Detroit, New Orleans, Baltimore, Atlanta, Little Rock, Indianapolis, Columbus (OH), OK City, Baton Rouge, Jackson, Oakland... But Chicago has better hospitals (and universities).... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

Not so much the city in general, but Rush Medical Center is where I'd go for joint surgery. My sister is an orthopedic PA and has been putting knees and feet back together again there for about ten years.

kallend 2,175 #9 May 28, 2014 So you don't really know the meaning of "rate". That figures.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
kelpdiver 2 #10 May 28, 2014 kallendSo you don't really know the meaning of "rate". That figures. nonetheless, rates are greatly dependent on the choice in the denominator. If you want to talk about incomes or homeless rates or housing prices of San Francisco, but use the Bay Area metro district as your base, you distort the results. airdvr 210 #12 May 29, 2014 kallendSo you don't really know the meaning of "rate". That figures. What is it about my statement that makes you think I don't understand rate? Using your statistics Chicago benefits from having a large population. Doesn't change the fact that more people were murdered there in 2012 than any other large city. If you want to hold Chicago up as a great place for healthcare perhaps its all the practice they get tending to shooting victims. Either way you are as I always suspected you to be. elohssa tnagorraPlease don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
