Possible life sentence for pot brownies

Here's one law review article (it's actually a "note", meaning it was written by a law student) that describes this in some detail: http://assets.wne.edu/...17_note_Criminal.pdf, and here's one court case that's a pretty representative example of how the courts typically apply this (i.e., harshly): http://law.justia.com/...s/F3/303/277/505693/.

This made me think about my time on grand jury duty here in Westchester, New York, several years back. It turned out to be quite the experience (...actually, kind of horrifying, there are some truly bad people in this world...). There were two young black men that actually came in and talked to us, after being busted for several small rocks of crack cocaine (~2 grams?). These were guys who made some mistakes. They weren't thugs, and were on a path to try to make something out of their lives. In New York State, 0.5 grams (...yes, 0.5 grams) of crack cocaine is a FELONY, and you are fucked for the rest of your life. I couldn't believe it. The system simply wasted those two guys' lives, and needlessly. They will never be able to get a "professional level" job, and both could have done so, IMO.

Vaping has been used to smoke weed for years prior to the e-cigs.
:)
Boy howdy.

Today, someone could walk into a police station and vaporize hash oil in an e-cig and go undetected...

I'd like to see how that would play out using the more traditional methods of vaporizing...:D

Wouldn't it still smell?

(Excuse my naivety, I actually don't use drugs)

When you vaporize, you heat it only enough to, well vaporize the active ingredients. Ideally it doesn't burn so there isn't any smoke so the odors are much less then when you smoke it.

Key words = much less.....still smells like Mary J, and people will notice

Except they probably don't allow the use of e-cigs in police stations.

But perhaps you could sip on vodka out of a water bottle and go undetected.

Yes, there is a smell, but many tokers have adopted "stealthy vaporizing" methods that use various mixtures of PG-USP and sweeteners to mask the odor. Even without these methods, hash oil vapor tends not to linger around and could go undetected as long as you don't blow it directly into a cops face.

Well, if my 'police station' example was too over the top for you, there are plenty of real life examples where people have vaporized hash oil in restaurants, theaters, and even in high school classrooms who have gone unnoticed...therefore, I reject your absolute truth.

This will help illustrate the point I was trying to make with normiss and his traditional methods of vaporizing.

Vaporizing hash oil in an e-cig and drinking vodka out of a water bottle are stealthy techniques, whereas traditional methods of vaporizing weed are more aboveboard.

Lets say you, me and normiss walk into a police station...

You're drinking your vodka from a water bottle...

I'm toking my hash oil in an e-cig....

Normiss has some bizarre contraption with a bag of weed and starts vaping his nuggets...

Who do you think the cops will arrest first?
