turtlespeed 226 #51 May 24, 2014 kelpdiver*** You forget about corporate franchise tax, property tax for the business, and the other taxes involved. No - he said the return would come merely from "sales taxes and economic activity boosts." And if Texas were nickel and diming the company with these other taxes, why would they move there in the first place? Your estimate of 40k seems to be a little low. They will pay a little below the national average for their employees. I would guess 75 is a closer number. after taxes you are looking at maybe 55k/year - savings of 10% - you end up with 49K/yr so - if that was spent on goods and services then about 4800 - so you are correct it was a rather liberal estimate. cut that in half - 2400 and multiply that times 4000 jobs, though, and you get about 9.6 million per year.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
champu 1 #52 May 24, 2014 kelpdiver*** My dad,now pays more than half of his military retirement JUST on Real estate Tax in L.A. . If so, it's because he just bought a home here, which means he chose to take on this tax. Otherwise, it can only increase 2% per year, and it's 1-~1.2% of the purchase price of the home. This is substantially lower than many states, and with the guarantee of consistency. I've seen others as high as 4%. Of course, LA and California real estate is pricier, so mine comes close to 10k/year. But I know it will still be that way in 20 years. Indeed, there are many things that are much more expensive about California, including real estate, but residential property tax rates are generally pretty reasonable. My home (in L.A. County) was worth about the same as my dad's house when he sold it a year ago (in Cook County, IL) and he was paying over three times what I pay in property taxes. (and I bought in 2010 whereas he'd had that place since '89) The students / teacher ratio is about the same in classrooms and I have beaches, so I think I'm getting a better deal. richravizza 28 #53 May 26, 2014 and in ten years when the Tax bill is ALL your retirement then What?.......... Back to the BIG merger, IT'S DEAD for NOW. Good News; Pfizer has an extra 118 Billion sitting around and needs Growth. Mankind needs a partner for their inhalable insulin. Anal-yst after Anal-yst is eating, umm.. Crow . Let's see, ther's David Williamson of Motley Fool. You can join Adam Fuerstine of "The Street", and Piper Jafray's Dr.Schummer. Come July the winner gets another chance to be "Fool" of the decade when stellar sales are reported in the first quarter of next year. Have they bothered to speak to any Afrezza users from the trial? How about diabetes patients and their thoughts on the ability to reduce or eliminate needle injections? How about emergency room Doctors looking for a faster acting insulin in life and death situations? Wow I guess anyone can be an analyst these days and not have to do due diligence.
