Another clueless Tea Partier

Well, in this case _one_ teapartyer doesn't have a clue. Hard to extrapolate much from that.

But THIS case isn't the only case, as we saw prior to the last election.

This is Kallend doing his usual thing taking someone on the fringe of the party he doesn't like and trying to say it's the norm...

Or in this case, the supporter of someone he doesn't like and trying to make an association.

I guess I should be thankful that he's not calling him a "racist tea bagger"

I give this post an age of "12". Not an adult in the room yet, but almost the intellectual content of a teenager.:D

The Tea Party IS the fringe. The loony fringe of the GOP. That's why the GOP leadership is trying really hard to avoid having the "morans" (sic) on the November ballot.

So it's your contention that some people are too loony to run for election?

Much easier for some to extrapolate than others. Logic doesn't always prevail over hard biases.....

Yup, and in that line of thought, every single Dem is the equivalent of the "Obama money" citizen.

Glad that's all straightened out.

That's a very "sciencey" approach to extrapolation there prof. Is that what you're teaching?

I have always associated 'morans' with the Tea Party, but was fascinated to find a couple weeks ago it originated much earlier in the 2000s, from a counter protester of the 2003 Iraq II war.

But overall, I agree. There is no fringe members of the Tea Party - they have collectively set a remarkably low bar of basic political competence and I'm happy for the country that their appeal to unhappy voters quickly petered out. At this point, they're just a liability to the GOP and its ability to find leadership for 2016. If Hillary really is the best option the Democrats can put up, a half decent Republican can win. But I've been waiting to see that candidate since 2010...instead we got Fuax Romney.

And I can't wait for the Ted Cruz candidacy. Maybe he can pair up with Bachmann to pursue the lady vote.

Ah yes...one jerk/jerkette and the whole group gets painted with same.

Seems since the 60's (I remember them well), the "rightwous left" was warning the rest of us with finger wagging in our faces about stereotyping and just how bad it was and is; that much we can agree on.

But it seems dear friend you've succummed to the words of the late historians Will and Ariel Durant who eloquently stated, "What we have fought against, we have become."

And I might add one of my favorites, the late William F. Buckley who stated that, "I'd rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people in the Boston Telephone Directory than the faculty of Harvard University."

My own personal variation with apologies to the late Mr. Buckley is that I would trust the government of the United States to the first 400 people of any US telephone directory than I would the faculty of ANY university.

Have a nice day!

Did you go to college? Just curious, since it seems that the people most disparaging of Universities have never been to one.

If you want to start name dropping idiots on the right and the left, we can play that game all day.

Still doesn't make it right to identify a group by the actions of a few. I think the technical terms for that are "stereotyping" and "bigotry."

In truth what happened to the tea party is they kind of disbanded. The mainstream media did everything in there power to label them as "racist, extremists, terrorists, fringe far right religious zealots" and to an extent they succeeded.

So a lot of people, realizing that splitting the Republican party in half would give the Democrats an unchallenged majority for the foreseeable future, and decided to get back in the fold and try to hold the republicans accountable to the basic idea of fiscal responsibility (the basic idea that started the tea party).

The tea party that you see now are really a bunch of hold outs. They may not be the most well spoken bunch, but to continue to label them falsely because you can't understand their point of view is wrong.

If you want to continue down the road of bigotry and hate of your fellow man and shut down free speech, hey, that's on you.

And the mainstream GOP too! The GOP would probably have taken the Senate in 2012 if not for idiots like Akin and Mourdock.

I certainly don't understand the point of view of people who want to eliminate taxes but at the same time carry posters saying "Goverment [sic] Keep Yore [sic] Hands Of [sic] My Medicare".

Quite the contrary...I do pay attention but it was you who started this thread "Another clueless tea partier" which means one person. I'm just trying to stick to the subject matter and context of the esteemed, all knowing all wise originator! I'm assuming that's you...right?

Secondary but indicative. The self-contradictory content was the really ignorant part. I guess you missed that though.

and we move on to the next step in the formulaic Kallend method of internet argument. Take the omission of response to something (anything) and use it as evidence of reading comprehension problems.

(careful with that word "ignorant". it'll get you banned unless the mods agree with you, then all the rules don't apply)
