kallend 2,175 #1 May 9, 2014 WASHINGTON – Mitt Romney on Friday urged the Republican Party to drop its opposition to raising the minimum wage, putting himself back in the middle of a vigorous debate over the direction of the party he led in 2012. “I part company with many of the conservatives in my party on the issue of the minimum wage. I think we ought to raise it,” Romney said Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “Because frankly, our party is all about more jobs and better pay. And I think communicating that is important.” “I also believe the key to our party is being able to convince people in working population, particularly the Hispanic community, that our party will get them get better jobs and better wages,” he added. There is, of course, no evidence to suggest that a modest raise in minimum wage leads to lower economic growth, which is the standard GOP mantra.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
rushmc 23 #2 May 9, 2014 Never liked him from the start But he was what the republican elete wanted But, anyway you look at it, he would have been much better than we now have"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Bertt 0 #3 May 9, 2014 Quoterepublican elete wanted Not exactly. He was what the Republican elite had left after Herman Cain, Rick Perry, et. al. self-destructed in a series of debates that comedians usually see only in their dreams. Fact is, Romney would be a lot more successful as a Democrat. He became a Republican largely because the Kennedys had the Democratic party in Massachusetts locked up and Romney wanted to run for something. You don't have to outrun the bear. BlueSkiesDad 0 #5 May 9, 2014 They're all RINO's and DINO's, because they can't run as the Corporate Lackey party. I hate most politicians, but I do my research and pick the lesser of two evils at the polls.Think for yourself. Question authority.
