Or Republicans. But the hypocrisy gets a bit old.

However, if from the very beginning he said he was a member of the LGBT community, but didn't believe in gay marriage, would you have a problem with that?"There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. I'd find it odd, but I wouldn't have a problem with it. - Dan G

No. It would be a bit strange - like a gun enthusiast advocating for a gun ban - but that's his right.
jgoose71 0 #7 May 5, 2014 Well now that we have established that it's OK for a gay man to have some conservative views, what do you think about the treatment of Carl DeMaio? http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/04/28/california-house-race-no-one-puts-gay-republican-carl-demaio-in-corner/ It didn't mention it in this article, but he was actually awarded damages from a liberal political action group who was trying to make a big deal out of him being gay. Hypocrisy is disgusting, no matter what side it's from and Republicans don't hold a monopoly. Liberals show no shortage of it when it comes to reining in people of certain groups that are only supposed to vote or be Democrat."There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. billvon 3,120 #8 May 5, 2014 >what do you think about the treatment of Carl DeMaio? Pretty bad, both from the left and the right. The left doesn't like him because he opposes things they support (like Obamacare) and the right doesn't like him because he's gay. Expect this to get worse from both sides as the election heats up. I think the left of centers find it insulting that he is conservative and going against the grain. It boggles them and when they are boggled - they go into hate mode.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

jgoose71 0 #13 May 6, 2014 billvon And the right of centers just hate him because he's gay. And strangely, he has said that he has found mostly acceptance and compassion in the republican party. billvon 3,120 #15 May 6, 2014 >And strangely, he has said that he has found mostly acceptance and compassion >in the republican party. Hmmmmmm. The republcan party? The party that (he says) gives people the perception that "we're the party that wants to deny people their rights and interfere with their personal lives?" Let's see what they have to say about this guy. From Hartline: "Here is a photo of homosexual San Diego City Councilman Carl DeMaio smirking with homosexual San Diego City Councilman Todd Gloria during the Friday night, February 26th celebration of homosexuality at the San Diego Gay and Lesbian Center. These two gay activists were comfortably idolizing their fellow transvestite, lesbian and homosexual partners of immorality while the rest of San Diego was desperately seeking Chelsea King Friday night." Yep, there's some acceptance and compassion there. From the National Organization for Marriage: "Carl DeMaio claims to be ‘one of us’ but his vision of America is very different from ours. He comes from an environment where sexual morality is a thing of the past, where children are indoctrinated into questioning their own sexuality . . . " Compassion and acceptance, except he's indoctrinating children into amoral homosexuality.

billvon 3,120 #17 May 7, 2014 >And strangely, he has said that he has found mostly acceptance and compassion >in the republican party. Today's republican "acceptance and compassion" comes from South Dakota state rep Steve Hickey: ======== When he learned that South Dakota is poised to become the latest state to face a legal challenge against its same-sex marriage ban, Steve Hickey was inspired to take action. The Republican state House representative and pastor submitted a letter to the editor this week to the Argus Leader, South Dakota's largest newspaper. He titled it "A One Way Alley for the Garbage Truck" and challenged the "medical and psychological communities" to weigh in on the matter. . . . In his phone interview with TPM, he acknowledged that heterosexual couples "absolutely" participate in anal sex, too, but then proceeded to focus squarely on the "health of homosexuality." He wrote in the letter that "historically, homosexuality has been a notable marker of the downfall of past civilizations" and he told TPM that gay marriage will cause society to "decline morally." Yet, he insisted it's really a public health issue. Hickey told TPM it's obvious that anal sex isn't good and urged the medical community to back him up. . . . Hickey told TPM last week that he was "a little sore" with all the angry feedback he received and insisted he just wanted to help those with "genetic breakdowns" like homosexuality. ================== http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/steve-hickey-anal-sex-letter-south-dakota Nothing like telling someone they are a "genetic breakdown" to show your acceptance and compassion. After you tell them what kind of sex they have, of course.
